Roadtrips To Funerals

Readers POV:

I woke up to my same annoying alarm. Gavin was laying with his face towards me, and his arms around me.

I gently got up and turned off my alarm, and then woke up Gavin.

I straddled on top of him and started shaking his body. He slowly began to open his eyes.

"Mornin', love." Gavin said with a sleep groggy voice.

"Morning. Hurry up and get so we can go right away." I said back to him calmly.

My clock read 7:05 am. It was about the time Michael started walking to school.

I grabbed my phone off the charger and texted him.

Me: Need a ride to school?

Michael: Yeah but how?

Me: I'm sure my we can pick you up on the way out and then drop you off.

Michael: sounds good.

Me: okay. be ready by 7:30.

I put down my phone and waited for Gavin to get cleaned up and ready. We gathered our things, and went downstairs to meet my parents, and help pack the car.

Once we got everything settled, we got in the car. I told my parents to pick up Michael and drop him off at school.

By 7:45 we had dropped off Michael and continued on a 2 hour drive from Austin to San Antonio, especially with traffic. Man, how I hate austin traffic. People need to learn how to drive in rain.

After an hour of driving I felt my self drifting into a sleep. I looked up at Gavin and realized I was laying on his lap.

I began to get up, but he gently put his hand over my head signaling me to stay. So I did, and slept like a baby.

RAY POV: (at school)

I crutched, and crutched and crutched my way through the hallways. My arms began to cramp while I held my books and crutches.

The pain became unbearable, it honestly hurt more than my knee. I couldn't take it, so I sat down at a nearby bench, and of course right before I sat down, I dropped my books across the floor.

All I heard was laughter from people around me. And then a girl approached me. She had dark hair and black framed glasses.

"Here let me help you" she said as she gathered my books.

"Yeah, thanks" I responded.

"I'm Tina by the way." She said while putting my books on the bench.

"Hi I'm Ray." I replied.

"Hey Ray. What class are you headed to?"

"Third period geography." I responded.

"Cool me too. I can hold your books while we walk." She said while grabbing my books.

"Sure." I said.

This girl seems pretty damn cool....

Readers POV: (In San Antonio)

I woke up to see Gavin asleep against the window. I was still laying on his lap, so I got up trying not to disturb him.

I looked out the window and noticed a familiar view of San Antonio. We passed by the Alamo dome and the huge tower that looked like the Seattle space needle.
