A crisp autumn Saturday morning sets the backdrop for the Rogers family activities.
Your oldest son has a soccer game, your daughter has piano lessons and tutoring, while your younger son has tutoring and your youngest was there to tag along. To make matters busier, there were a ton of things you had to do to prep to bring the Rogers clan to Wakanda for T'Challa's wife Nakia's baby shower.
"Mama, mama, I want cookies," your younger son Jackson says tugging on your long, drapey sweater.
"Hold on bud," you say looking all around the state-of-the-art kitchen for Savana's favorite bottle.
Since kitchen's been remodeled, it's been a mess trying to find everything we needed and it's even worse when you've got a screaming 8 month old. Where in hell is steve when you need him?
"Yes!" You whisper to yourself as you finally come across it.
After rinsing it and filling it with her breakfast smoothie, you hand it to her and she slurps away happily sitting in her highchair. Now that she's taken care of, you turn your attention to Jackson and his cookies. Deciding it would be easiest, you throw him on your hip and just as your making your way to the other side of the kitchen to the pantry, Steve arrives all rested and sexy and it pisses you off.
"Morning beautiful," he greets, his morning voice husky and hot making your knees week.
This boy.
"Morning," you say giving him a quick kiss on the lips before continuing toward the pantry.
He heads over to the breakfast table where your youngest daughter Savana was messily tossing Cheerios in her mouth. He picks her up and holds her in the air cooing at her and you smile briefly before returning to search for Jackson's cookies. When you close the door he's standing right there and you barely notice him.
"Babe, what's going on you seem occupied," Steve says following you.
"James' soccer bag, where is it?" You respond ignoring his question.
No duh you were occupied. You're trying to wrangle four kids all by yourself while he sleeps all morning. You understood he needed to recharge after a long day of saving lives, but in a house full of crazy kids, you weren't so sure those other people where the people that needed saving.
"Hey hey hey," he says grabbing Jackson off of your hip thus stopping you.
He places Jackson down on the floor only to look up and you've walked away in search of that bag.
"(Y/n), what's going on here," he says with a voice laced with a little worry and lots of calmness.
You pause, look at him and instead of continuing you decide there's no point and you open up the flood gates.
"James has practice and he wants me to watch. Jackson has a game and he wants me to cheer him on too but while all that is happening, Evelyn will be sitting in front of the Music Factory wondering where her mother is oh and then Savana needs a mommy for the mommy and me class because ya know...that's the whole point and -,"
He interrupts you by leaning in to kiss you a small smile on his lips when you pull apart. You're still mad at the world right now but slightly more calm than before.
"Proceed," he nods toward you.
"How on earth am I supposed to do that if you keep kissing me when I am trying so hard to mad at you," You glare at him.
"Because I want to kiss my wife,"
"And it couldn't wait until after I'm done being mad?"
"Nope," he says smiling at you with that cute innocent smile of his.
You continue to glare at him but soon your glare turns to a smile.
"Ahh you son of a gun," you chuckle before coming closer to Steve to wrap your arms around his neck and pull him into a sweet kiss.
You can't even remember why you were mad in the first place. That is until your reminder shows up tugging on your sweater.
"Mama mama! It's time to go! Coach Clint is gonna be so mad," Jackson says frantically.
Just as you go to pull away, Steve pulls you back in, kissing you quickly again.
"I got it, go take a day off, you deserve it," he says sincerely.
"Babe no, I can't expect you to handle all of this,"
"Honey, I'm a super soldier for god-sake how hard can this be?" He attempts to calm you.
Rather than debating it, you decide to take the day since times like these come very rarely. He kisses you one more time before rallying your kids, forgetting to dress Savana who's still in her pajamas, but at least he gets them to the car. While they're gone, you tidy up a little and it takes you a while but you soon realize you're home alone with no kids. You know what that means.
You strip off your clothes and go commando sporting one of Steve's button ups. You turn on the music and dance your ass off and when you get tired, you crash on the couch with a container of ice cream and catch up on your favorite TV show, Law & Order. Before your kids were born, you were a lawyer and damn good one at that, but the babies kept coming one by one and even though you loved your job, you loved Steve and your family together more so you made the sacrifice. It was a good one and even though you missed your job a lot, you still had Law and Order.
By the time you get caught up, lunch rolls around and you decide to call and checkup on Steve, curious how he's handling everything.
"Hey how's it going," you say into the phone.
"Pretty good, Savana and I were just having some bonding time, isn't that right Savana?"
You hear small and muffled baby laughter from the phone that causes you to smile.
"Don't forget to feed the kids and Savana needs her nap at-"
"Honey, think I can manage," Steve cuts you off.
You grin wondering how in the world you ended up so lucky.
"I love you,"
"I love you more,"
