The Slingshot master

Part 1

As soon the whistle blew ,the first shooter shooted but his shot didn't even go near the target ,instead it went into the sky and landed God knows where.I was getting extremely nervous as it was the turn of second shooter and i was the third one. Beside me stood Jack ,my servant and friend ,OK ,maybe more servant than friend.As soon as the second shooter had his turn which was close but not at the target,everybody started cheering and clapping for my turn. I was way more than nervous .I started to sweat and a fire rose inside me. Only jack sensed my uncomfort and whispered to me,"relax James ,everything is gonna be fine". I gave him a weak smile with all my effort .As I took shot and released the rubber, my shot went closer to the target than the second shooter but still didn't touch the target . I got depressed and held back tears . I ran away letting the competition continue and sat under the mango tree on the other side of the hill . This place was best for me to hide and me and jack to play everyday. I burst into tears and sat there almost for about 15 mins. As I felt footsteps coming towards me after sometime ,I panicked but before I could even move,I saw its jack and relaxed back ,he came close and tried to console me but I got angry at myself for not winning rhe competition and let out my frustration on jack . The poor boy even felt sorry for consoling me before the competition. But he still sat with me quietly and later plucked fresh mangoes for me. After a while ,I said ," I am going home jack. "my voice sounding more firm than It intended to.
After a while I heard a knock on my rooms door,I shouted,"come in!" It was jack . He started apologizing but stopped when when I said,"no jack,I am sorry ". We hugged and everything was fine again. Until next day when I realized that everything was normal between me and Jack but not me and dad.
