I holster my love,
Like a gun.
Not only because,
You have won.
I keep my head down,
I'm unbidden.
Don't appreciate your frown,
Unhidden.
Please don't call upon me,
To care.
I just don't want to see,
What is there.
We have broken apart,
Like glass.
But the breaking of my heart,
Will pass.
Once friends together,
Torn apart.
Now lost forever,
Why start?
I can't convince,
My shame.
Because ever since,
Not the same.
I can't meet your eye,
Can't take you in my arms.
Can't see us in flight,
Or save you from harm.
So go now, friend,
Let's say the last goodbye.
We ourselves will mend,
If our broken spirits try.
Hold me there,
In your place of places.
Together we will share,
Each other's faces.
