Adam was skipping happily through his budder kingdom in the middle the Great Mountains. His whole life he wish for this day to come. It finally had three years ago, when he and his seven other amazing friends had made it possible. Now with ten million strong and counting, Adam had made his almost impossible hope come true.
He wandered through the many markets that were scattered here and there, saying hello to the shopkeepers every few stops. Children played around him, smiling, enjoying the freedom that the Sky Kingdom had to offer. Adam joined in the fun, running and dancing in their game of tag. He quickly became 'it' and was soon out of breath as the kids sped away from his reach as he ran over to get them back.
He finally tagged a small boy who reminded Adam of Ty, his true friend. The boy had long blonde hair that draped over his left eye, and black and blue headphones placed directly over his ears, while Ty had more brown hair than he did blonde and his headphones were black and lime green, not blue.
Adam waved goodbye to the children as he ran off towards the main castle itself. It loomed over the small houses that surrounded it, the golden glow it held shining from the sun that rested in the cloudless sky. He reached for the handles to the giant doors that were placed directly in the center of the front of the castle, but a hand stopped him as it tightly clenched Adam's right shoulder.
He turned around to see Ty, his casual look giving him away. He wore the simplest of clothes, a white v-neck t-shirt and gray jeans that dragged behind his heals, unlike Adam, who always wore lightweight armor that fit smoothly under the budder gear he used for battle, and of course, the black shades he wore everywhere to cover his unnatural golden eyes that always shined like his kingdom. A golden amulet hung from a silver chain that was wrapped around his neck. The purple amethyst in the center of the pendent dimly glowed in the sunlight.
Adam swept some his brown curly hair with the back of his hand out his face as he spoke to Ty. "Hey Ty! It's been awhile! Where've you been lately?"
He pulled Ty into a quick hug of welcoming before Ty gave his response."I've been here and there, defeating mob battles of all sorts that have been randomly coming from time to time," he adjusted his headphones as he told Adam his story, "There's been a pause between the battles right now, so I figured I could come out here to give you this." Ty produced a small envelope from the back pocket of his jeans and held in front of Adam, his arm outstretched. Adam accepted the letter with a quick swipe of his gloved hand as he took it out of Ty's.
"That must suck having to fight all the time," Adam felt concerned for Ty as his own kingdom of two million was commonly in war.
"It's not that bad, really," Ty waved his hand in front of his friend as if this battle was nothing, "We've got in under control, so there's no need to worry."
Adam sighed before he took his turn to talk, "Well, it was good to see you, Ty."
"You too, man," he started to back away, knowing this was the end of their conversation.
"Let me know if you need the Sky Army to help the Dead Army, okay?" called Adam as he opened the castle doors.
"I will! See you later!" Ty gave a quick salute with his right hand before breaking into a run.
"See you!" Adam yelled back, waving his hand high in the air, even though he knew Ty wouldn't see it. He turned around as soon as his friend was out of sight and studied the envelope Ty had given him. 'Adam Dahlburg' was written across the very center of the letter, and... that was it. No address, no return address and no stamp either. Just his name. Adam flipped the paper in his hands, seeing if there was anything on the other side, but it was blank, and he ended up turning the letter to he see the name 'Adam Dahlburg' still there, and nothing else.
