Hello there future readers. My name is Skif Dantarian. I am the man tasked with recording the history of the age of expansion. A few years ago, back in 2200 humanity had reached a population of 40 billion, far to many people to sustain.
The brightest minds on the planet came together and began discussing what they should do.
The president of The Americas began discussing a plan for lowering or expanding the population, The other nations demanded a solution that could continue the expansion of humanity. The empress of Asia put forth a new plan.

She suggested colonizing Mars, which was something henceforth unattempted. This seemed like the best idea at the time. However, this expansion came with a whole bunch of new problems.

How to get people there? How do we make big enough ships? How do we make the place livable even? In short, we could not act until we had answers to these questions.

All of the best scientists began working on terraforming technologies. A scientist from Africa discovered a combination of metals and chemicals that could turn gasses into other gasses. The science is beyond me but something about gravity wells or something.

A scientist from America discovered a bacterium that creates gasses from their base components. Pretty neat. Scientists took these discoveries and terraformed the moon.

After terraforming was complete, the scientists built small space ships to ferry people to the new moon. They brought tools with them and built buildings.

This is the story of the first human colony.
