Hold On (Short Luther Fic)

Luther managed to stumble his way out of the sinking ship. Jericho was lost. But that didn't matter now. All that mattered was getting to Kara and Alice and getting to Canada.

He examined the area, making sure the coast was clear before proceeding. As he walked his foot hit something, causing him to almost trip over. He kneeled down to inspect what he almost tripped over, brushing the snow away to snow to reveal an android staring blankly at nothing. It was shut down and Luther did a scan to see what was the cause.

Luther's scan revealed that the android was shot twice in the chest. The android had shut down almost immediately. Luther began to worry about Kara and Alice's safety.

"Calm down Luther. Kara and Alice are strong. They're probably waiting for me at the border," Luther reassured himself as he proceeds, noticing all the dead androids covered in snow.

That was when he noticed something. A smaller shape buried in the show. A wave of panic spiked through him and he rushed over to the shape, quickly uncovering it. As he brushed the snow away he felt his heart drop into his stomach.

There lay Alice, curled up and shut down, a single shot in her stomach. Luther slowly pulled her close and her small lifeless hand brushed away some snow from the figure next to her. Kara lay there staring up at the sky her once beautiful eyes now lifeless and glazed over. He pulled her closer as well.

Luther stared at the two girls who he loved and cared for, lay dead in his arms. Ever so slowly a tear slipped down his cheek and landed on Kara's face.

"I'm so sorry Kara... Alice... I should have been there to protect you... I love you both..." he placed a kiss on each of their lifeless foreheads before closing his eyes and allowing himself to slowly shut down.
