"Hey, George can you come over tonight?" Asks Audrey, my best friend as we walk to our last class of the day. "Ok, what time?" I ask back "After school so we can study for the 'science test'" she replies making bunny ears while saying science test. "Audrey, we actually do have a science test." I clarify with her. "Oh." She says looking at me with wide eyes. "What do we have next?" She adds. I roll my eyes because she asks me that every time we walk to our lockers. "Uhh... Math." I tell her after trying desperately to remember what we had next. "Ugh" she replies.
When we get to our lockers I let out a quick and quiet laugh. "What?" Audrey asks with her hands on her hips, thinking that I laughed at her. I looked near the ground at the boy in front of her slowly getting his books out. "Hey, wait for me." She quickly blurts out as I lock my locker. I wait for Audrey and appreciated how she was scrambling with her books as fast as she can. "Here." I tell Audrey shoving her out of the way while I grab her math binder, student diary, pencil case and laptop quickly. "Thanks." Audrey says while shoving the rest of her books inside and locking her locker before all of her books fall out.
"You're late" Mrs Malinovski tells Audrey and I in her usual, harsh, Russian tone. "I'm sorry but Mr Williams asked us to help him take some boxes to the office." I advise our techer with the quick lie I made up in my head. "Sit." is all she replies with. I spot a desk toward the back left with two seats at it. As I start to head over to the table I feel a sudden prod-like nudge in my right arm. I look behind me, toward the right and I see Artie Miller, the most popular boy in the year-level snickering. I know that he threw something at me. "Artie Miller!" yells Mrs Malinovski. "If you wish to throw objects in this class you must leave imediately." she continued. "No, I'm good." replies Artie. Mrs Malinovski gives him the 'I'll be watching you' glare. Yet one thing always remained stuck at the back of my mind, How are you so popular with a name like Artie?
Throughout the whole lesson, Audrey and I spoke about tv shows, people and just plain weird stuff. We got a whole chunk of homework and Audrey and I decided that we would do the homework at her house. "Hey, when's next cheer practice?" I ask Audrey wonderingly. "Thursday." She replied while flicking me in the face with the large braid she made at the back of her head. Sometimes I wonder how she keeps all that hair under control. "Ok." I reply.
The bell rings to go back to homeroom and Audrey and I practically run to our lockers so we don't have to wait. For once, we were actually the first to homeroom which wasn't really a good thing considering you had to wait outside the door for another five minutes. As soon as home room finished we walked straight to the bus stop to catch the bus that Audrey normally takes home.
I hope you liked my first chapter. I will update soon. Thanks.
