The whole rest of the way to my new apartment were filled with small talk and the occasional laughing at the driver's road rage.
Once we pulled up to my big apartment complex I couldn't do anything but stare at how big it was as I got out of the Uber. Shawn quickly ran to the trunk to grab my bags and thanked the Uber driver.
"C'mon" he laughed nudging me, knocking me out of my thoughts while he headed for the door opening it for me.
"O o yes thank you" i said as I quickly rushed in.
I then approached the lady sitting behind the desk in the huge lobby.
"Hello my name is Saige Benzi, I'm a new tenant in one of the apartments" I explained
"O yes Ms. Benzi..." she started. I really don't like when people call me that. "I have your keys right here. One is for your mail box and the other two are your house keys. Your apparent number is 107" she finished smiling at Shawn who was now standing next to me.
I hadn't noticed how close we were but it gave off a sense of comfort.
"Okay thank you so much" I thanked her before walking off to the elevators a few feet away from me with Shawn trailing behind.
The whole elevator ride was quiet but I noticed Shawn staring at me which made me a little uncomfortable and wanting to hide my insecurities.
As the doors opened I looked at the sigh that read "<106-1010 , 101-105>".
Following the sign's directions I turned left and went down a short hallway- with Shawn following of course- which lead to my apartment at the end of the hall next to '106'.
I quickly unlocked the door so Shawn could finally put my bags down. As we walked in all of my furniture was in place and my apartment was already decorated. Wasn't a big surprise to me because I knew this had to be Kate's doing.
"Whoa everything is already here and unpacked?" Shawn asked in a questioning and confused tone while placing my bags down next to the door and shutting it.
"O yea" I laughed. "My manger says she doesn't want me to worry about anything except the movie while I'm here so she got everything ready for me here" I explained.
"Wow where'd you find her" he laughed.
I laughed back shrugging.
"Well since you don't need help unpacking" he started. "How about we go on an adventure?"
"Hmmm an adventure?, sounds fun, let's do it" I replied smiling.
"Great, I can't wait to take you to some of my fav places in the city" he said excitedly while reaching for the door to open it.
"O uh wait" I stopped him. "I have to use the bathroom first" I said a little embarrassed.
"O okay yea go ahead, I'll be here waiting" he nodded.
I quickly ran to the bathroom handling my business before I came back out seeing Shawn stare at one of the many pictures in a fame Kate had placed around my house.
"Is this your sister?" he asked curiously pointing to the girl in the picture next to me.
"O no, she's not but she might as well be" I said walking over to him looking at the picture he held.
