Grey-Eyed Boy In The Pic! Comment! :)
-----
I woke up to feel cool fingers touching my cheek.
Then those fingers were slapped away.
I opened my eyes.
"Did I give you permission to touch my sister?" Zach snapped at the tall boy beside him.
The boy had dark hair and smoky grey eyes. He looked a little intimidated and stepped away from Zach.
"Sorry," he murmured, then looked down at his feet.
"Zach?" I sat up, saying. Zach's eyes widened and he turned to look at me.
"Lib! You're ok!"
"Yup," I said, stretching my stiff arms. My muscles ached and my bones felt numb. Then I looked around.
"Where are we?"
"Before you were almost gulped down by the quicksand, this guy saved you-" he pointed a thumb at the grey-eyed boy, who looked up at me. "-and Jacob, and he brought you here, to his home. Then he came and got me, which he should have done first." Zach glared at the boy again and folded his arms.
"Sorry," the boy said. I gave him a small smile and thanked him. Zach scowled.
"Where's Jacob?" I asked quickly, changing the subject. I swung my knees over the hard wooden board I'd been lying on. It balanced on two fat, tall tree stumps.
"I'll go and get him," the boy said, and hurried off, glancing at Zach as he went.
I folded my arms and glared at my brother. "Why are you so mean to him?"
"Because-"
"No. You're just getting overprotective. I can look after myself, Zach. I was the one who found the Minnie Mouse boat, I was the one who found Jacob and I was the one who saved you. I can do things myself and I want you to stop annoying me like this," I said, frustrated. Why did he think he had the right to helicopter over me?
Zach sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "Fine. But if he tries-"
"He will not try anything! So just shut up now so I can enjoy the view. Honestly, you always have to ruin everything." Zach clenched his jaw but sat down quietly beside me.
"Good boy," I said, patting his head. He shook my hand off and began styling his hair, pulling it upwards and to the side. I rolled my eyes. At least the blonde bit had completely faded away during the tsunami.
As I gazed at the pretty blue of the sea, and the few trees that surrounded the boy's hut of a house, I thought about the people back home. Mum and Dad? They were probably somewhere in Argentina or Peru right now, safe. Being in the FBI meant they were rarely home. The last time I saw them was three weeks ago, when we went to some rich person's dinner party together. That was amazing. They literally had a mansion of gold and velvet and silk. And the food was really good too.
Maddie? My heart squeezed and my shoulders collapsed as I thought about her. She'd be dead. Maddie wasn't really the strong type. Sad, I lay my head on Zach's shoulder and blinked away my tears.
"Hey, what's wrong?" he said in a concerned voice, softly, and put his arms around me.
"I don't know if Maddie's alive!" I burst into sobs, shaking uncontrollably and hugging him back.
