Working with my Ex HS sweetheart

Prologue

Sandara's POV

You don't know what might happen in a day.

You think you do, but life will prove you wrong. You think you won't make the same mistakes again just because you've felt sorry for yourself and to others for the nth time, but that's nothing. What happens to you in the future is beyond your control. You don't get to decide, neither does everyone else, what should happen and how it happens. Just do something and let fate decide. Because nothing is definite enough in this world.

IT CAN'T BE

"C-could you repeat that?" I said slowly, denying what I've just heard.

"Kwon Jiyong, you'll be working with him for the project. He's from Lee's Architect co. The one you're father chose to partner with." My assistant Jisoo whom I consider as one of my closest too, casually reads from her tablet.

"Kwon-Ji-yong" I muttered and bit my bottom lip. I leaned back from my swivel chair as I sigh deeply signaling Jisoo to hand me the tablet wishing it'd be someone with the just same name. Then right there I see a man with pointed nose, a confident smile marked on his face, and eyes sharp.

My eyebrows furrow from the thoughts running in my head and before I boil with frustration Jisoo cut my thoughts and say. "You don't look pleased. For a second there I thought you fell in love at first sight".

I look at her with an offended face "Love at first sight?" I laugh forcefully and went straight to my poker face, a bitch face according to a few. I put down the tablet on the table harder than what I intended to do and I stand.

I pace back and forth slowly trying to come up with a plan to murder the guy or maybe fake getting a contagious disease or something so I won't have to do this project but sucks to be me, I need to. "What's with you?" Jisoo reached across the table for the tablet and head for the door.
I plan to speak with my dad as soon as he comes back home from a business trip. I don't know what he's planning to do exactly and what got into his mind to partner with LAC out of all the other companies but I don't agree with all this.

When I received a call from one of our employees informing me the early arrival of my dad I immediately head to his office.

The sound of my heels clacking from the marbled floor as I pushed the double doors. I breathe in and I try not to flip out "Seriously dad? Out of all the people you can partner me with you chose Kwon Jiyong?" I'm surprised I didn't snapped at him. I was calm enough.

"Leave us for a moment please" He commands to his directors and assistants and they bow as their reply. I didn't noticed there were others in the room. They were all wearing dark-colored suits that blends in with the interior. The only difference is one of them is wearing stripes.

"So dad, explain yourself" I demanded.

"A simple greeting would be nice"

"I apologize. I hope the trip went smoothly?" I walk closer.

"Yes it did actually, and I can tell you're not happy with the partnership we made with LAC?" I don't sense a hint of irritation from him, or at least any emotion at all which is quite unexpected knowing how he can be sensitive when being contradicted.

I breathe in and let out a sigh."Partnership YOU made dad. I have nothing to do with this." I look at him in eyes and I could tell he's observing me.

"Kwon Jiyong, that man is really full of surprises huh" he said. "If you think I did this on purpose I didn't. He is truly our best choice."

"But dad there's a lo-"

"LAC offered a good deal. This partnership can increase the reputation of our company. I wouldn't let that slip away now would I? " he raises his eyebrows taking a sip from his tea.

"Then hire another guy from LAC" I stated, almost begging as I lean my hands on his desk.

"This project is not just any project Sandara and you know that. Mr. Kwon is excellent at his job. A lot of businessmen/women are trying to hire him personally" he continues "This is your chance to prove yourself to me. Don't disappoint me" His stern voice and the look in his eyes says that I need to do this whether I like it or not.

There would be times that it seems like you have no choice. It is out of your reach so you just have to face it. Consider that things can get worse but you have to consider more the probability that things will be better. And I know it will be.

Kwon Jiyong, bring it on.

Hey beautiful people! I'm back ya'll and I just finished re-writing this book's prologue. I wish ya'll don't mind the minor improvements I made. Can't wait for all of you to read the next re-written chapters. I promise I'll update consistently now. Cross my heart <3
