The nail polish dripped from the brush onto the ground, splattering it with black paint. A tear drop came next. What better way to cure sadness then to dress in dark colours and wallow in despair. The only thing was, Tara had no reason to be sad... Her life was going just as she had planned it to go, passing classes with high achievements, raking in money from her job, university applications filled out and ready to be submitted. Where was this coming from?

The tears continued to spill over her cheeks, her despair filling her from deep within her chest. A mere hour ago, Tara had been laughing with her friends at a local cafe drinking a peach iced tea. Now she was in her room with the curtains shut tightly in the fetal position on her bed.

Tara stayed that way for the rest of the night, fading into unconciousness with her cheeks still wet from her tears.

--- ON THE OTHERSIDE OF THE WORLD ---

"Arrrrrrrrgh!" Jackson screamed into the night, cupping his hands around his head trying to get away from the darkness in his mind.

Blood dripped from his arms from deep cuts in his forearm, the razor blade that caused it lay in a pool of blood next to him. The darkness inside of him was crushing him from the inside out.

Why was he this depressed? He wasn't entirely sure himself, apart from having no one to talk to, having no family and nothing to destract him from that and the constant teasing and bashing he recieved from people.

He lay there in a pool of his own blood, feeling his vision slowly fade out until he was in unconcious bliss. Hopefully he wouldn't have to wake up again.

-----

White light seeped through his eyelids, bringing him crashing back into reality. The pain in his forearms was numbed but still able to be felt, making his position on the hard bed uncomfortable.

Somebody touched his face.

"Jackson? You there bud?" An unfamiliar voice asked him.

He opened his eyes to see a man in a white coat, a doctor no doubt.

Jackson started to breathe heavily, getting worked up quickly.

"No.. Why am I still here?! There's no point me still being here!" He exclaimed, biting his lip hard enough to draw blood.

"Jackson, hey calm down. We can work this out." The doctor said, trying to calm him.

Tears streamed down his face now, blurring his vision, he started to struggle against the doctors restraining hands.

"Sedative, now!" He said to a nearby nurse.

A slight sting and then Jackson was fading back to the blissful state of unconciousness.

"We'll get you through this Jackson." He heard the doctor say as he fading into the darkness.
