Chapter 2

Still Eloise's POV

I snapped out of my thoughts when my phone went off. It wasn't my usual message tone. That's when I remembered it was Louis'. He had set it last time I saw him. I picked up my phone and read the message. 

"Hey baby, I hope you remember what today is, I certainly do. I'll Skype you tonight and we'll talk. Have a good day xoxo" 

I read the text and smiled at myself, he was so perfect. Wait what; no I didn't just say that. Did I? Did I really think that? No I couldn't of he was my best friend nothing more. Good keep telling yourself that Eloise, no-one needs to know. You replied to the text: 

"YAY looking forward to seeing your face tonight! How does 8 sound? I haven't forgotten how could I? Have a good day too! Xoxo"  

The truth is I could never forget the day I heard his angelic voice. All his emotions were pouring out through the song and it gave me Goosebumps. When he came back I was so excited that he had taken the risk of performing. He jumped on me and kissed my forehead thanked me for helping him get there on that day. I had suggested the idea and told him he needed to audition. After lots of begging and convincing he finally did.  

I grabbed my bag and skipped down the stairs. Lalalala. When I got there my mum was holding my lunch. I took it and packed it in my bag, kissing her good bye and made my way to school. On my way to school I met up with My friends and continued texting Louis. He was so loud and exciting, even over text. He made me smile. 

"Eloise? Eloise?" I was quick to snap out of my thoughts when I heard a familiar voice. It was my best friend Kayla.  

"What?" 

"Eloise, you were dreaming about something. And laughing, you were also laughing at those texts your getting!" Paige, one of my other best friends replied. I looked down at my phone and realised it was going off. Louis was sending me lots of messages. Almost spamming me. I scrolled to the top and realized he sent the last message 10 mins ago. Wow how long had I been dreaming for.  

"Uh, yeah it's just nothing" I said obvisly lying. Kayla could see that. I put my head down and started to reply to the list of messages I had from Louis. Geez he had sent so many. 

"Elle we are your best friends you can tell us anything. Who are you texting?" said Kayla raising her voice for the last bit. I looked up from my phone and looked at them both. 

"Kayla keep your voice down" I complained leaning closer to her. "And I'm not texting anyone, it's no big deal"

As soon as I said that Kayla grabbed my phone and I froze. It was nothing personal it's just that the girls didn't know me and Louis still kept in touch. They weren't exactly best friends with him like I was but they were still pretty close. Me and Louis had always had something like a bond. When he left, we both cried. The girls were there for us but slowly lost contact with him. I never did he was such a big part of my life I think it was just impossible.  

"Oh My God, Eloise you still text Louis?" she sounded so surprised. 

"Uh... yeah we never lost touch" the girls gasped when I said this, their large jaws dropping. 

"Eloise! How come you never told us?" Paige sounded angry but in a joking way. 

"I-I-I don't know. I guess I thought you wouldn't care?!" I was trying to come up with a reason to cover the truth. The truth that I was completely in love with him. Wait what who said that? 

"You're in love with him Elly? You told us you had no feelings for no-one what so ever!!" when Kayla said this I realized I said that aloud. Oh, No. time to explain.  

"Look girls we need to get to school or we'll me late" I stated realizing you had stopped in the middle of the pathway."I'll explain everything later; just give me my phone back I need to respond!" I tried to snatch my phone back leaning across Paige but Kayla moved it away. "Hey give it back" I shouted. 

"Nuh, uh" Kayla said cheekily "not until he knows the truth" 

"Oh you wouldn't" I was angry now. 

"Oh yes we would" 

"No No please give it back, I'll tell him tonight on Skype! I promise!' I was obvisly not going to tell him, I just wanted my phone back. It seemed to work as Kayla slowly handed me my phone back. 

"You guys Skype?!?" Kayla sounded more surprised! "You still see his face; you must be getting it on aye?" Kayla was always like this, always thinking every time a girl met a guy they were getting it on. 

"WHAT?! No we are just friends" I said innocently. 

"But you want to be more then friends right?" This time Paige stepped in. 

"Well, yes and no. I don't want to ruin our friendship but his lips look so good" 

The girls burst out laughing at this. They stopped when they heard the school bell ring. We were a few blocks down from school and our first class was on the other side of the school. We all looked at each other and bolted for the school, running past the moving students. We made it to class just as the teacher was about to shut the door. Throughout the lesson I explained everything and the girls completely understood. They were convinced I was going to tell him tonight but I couldn't help worry about what he would say. Does he feel the same way? Does he think of me as a really good friend or a soul mate? If I broke it to him our friendship would be put on the line and it might be affected. Should I tell him or should I keep it a secret? I need help but from who?

Louis POV 

I was texting my best friend Eloise when suddenly she stopped replying. I knew she was walking to school with friends but she normally still responded quick. And I did just send her a question so she needed to answer. She was taking her time so I decided it was time to unleash my inner spam man. I started typing random letters and sent them one at time. I did this for 10 minutes but still I got no response. I looked like a mad man texting her but I wanted to know her response. 

"Hey buddy, I think you should stop texting Eloise like that." Said a familiar Irish accent. It was Niall "she will respond unless she really hates you. And unless you two had a really big fight she doesn't hate you!" Niall seemed proud of his words and had a smile on his face. It was contagious and I smiled too. He always made me smile. 

"I guess so... it's just normally she responds fast" I stated 

"Yeah well maybe she is busy"  

"Yeah" I agreed but I couldn't help think about what might have happened. Maybe she got hit by a car? No Louis don't think like that. God wouldn't have done that to her beautiful soul. Hang on. Did I just say her beautiful soul? No I didn't I can't have she is my best friend nothing more. What happened is, she fell and got hurt, or she had a fight with her friends and they beat her. No there is no way god would let them do that to her. She is probably just talking to her friends. Yeah she is just talking to her friends.

Readers POV 

The truth is Louis has always Liked Eloise, he couldn't help himself from the first time he saw her beautiful brown locks and gorgeous brown eyes he was mesmerized. But He got stuck in the friend zone and had to push his feelings away. Somehow he managed to temptation of her lips for many years and now that he didn't see them every day it was driving him mad. The boys could see it. They knew that there was some kind of connection between the two. Ever since they saw them together mucking around laughing at inside jokes no-one else got. They thought they were a secret couple at first but the two denied it quickly and everyone dropped it. The boys had tried to bring up Eloise before but Louis always changed the subject. Even with Harry. He would always yell something random like "CARRROTTS!" or "SSHHEEES MMIIINNE". It frustrated the boys to see him denying the fact he had feelings for her. And also the fact that HE keeps his feelings from HER. They wanted to tell Eloise but didn't want to lose Louis' trust. This secret was the one secret they held from each other and it was driving them both mad. Was it time to confess and tell each other or were they going to continue living like this?
