The Boy of the Ocean - Klance

Chapter 2

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE WILL KILL EVERYONE HERE!!", Keith yelled in panic. Allura jumped at the sound and hit a bookshelf. Another book then fell and hit her square in the face. "OW!", Allura snapped as she started to rub her nose. Keith looked at the book and picked it up from the ground. The cover was old since the color had washed out of it. Before it was the color of the sun, now it is the color of an old penny. "Whats this book?", Keith asked as he examined it. "How should I know?!??", Allura spat. Keith stared at it before Allura walked over and snatched it out of his hands. "How do we stop him!!??!", Keith asked. Allura sighed. "The boy of the ocean is different from most people, heck he probably isn't human, but in my books it is said that if he makes a bond with a human he would not really want to kill him", Allura replied. "So, we just have to get him a friend?", Keith asked. Allura nodded. "Seriously. I mean I thought we had to travel to the bad lands and get some magical orb thing", Keith said. "It sounds easy, but the boy of the ocean will only befriend you if you are strong, wise, and stuff like that and if you fail....", Allura paused. "If I fail?", Keith repeated. "He kills you..."Allura said, almost in a whisper. Keith paused. "I know this might not be the time, but can I borrow that book?", Keith asked. Allura turned to him. "I SERIOUSLY TOLD YOU THAT IF YOU FAIL YOU WILL GET KILLED AND YOU ARE ASKING ME ABOUT SOME STUPID BOOK", Allura screamed. Keith stood there and for a while it was silent. Allura then winded up her arm and threw it as hard as she could at Keith. It hit him right in the face. "OW WHAT THE HECK", Keith screamed. Before he could do anything else Allura grabbed him and lead him towards her door. She then kicked him out. "Sorry if I got angry, but it is to show you that I care", Allura spat. She then slammed the door. Keith sat on the ground for a little while until he decided to go back to his house. The sun was already setting and wolves and bandits would probably be coming soon. Keith walked until he made it to his house. He pushed the door open and was greeted by a women yelling at his dad. The women was tall and had on clothes that seemed way to expensive for anyone in this village. She had black hair that went down to her butt and it seemed that her eyes were a pale silver, like a nickle. Over all, Keith thought that this women was from the capital. "YOU CHEATED ON ME!", the women cried. It was clear that no one had noticed him so he ducked behind an archway that lead to there kitchen. "I did not", Keith's dad answered calmly. The women then glared at him. Keith watched as they fought and it ended with the women slapping his father and running out of the house while yelling things about his father. "Stupid women", Keith's dad grumbled. Keith then stepped out of the archway and walked towards the stairs that led to his room. "Keith I am so so-", "Its alright dad. And besides I do not care about what women you try to sleep with", Keith said. Before his dad could say anything else Keith ran to his room and shut the door. He walked towards his bed and sunk into its covers. He also lit a candle that was on his bed side. Keith then opened the book and started to read.

Once upon a time, there was a small boy that had powers that no one could explain. He could bend water itself and make a mans heart drown in darkness. He did not have a name since his parents were killed by bandits, so the people around him called him Ecnal. Ecnal was different from most of the children in his small village. He would only stay near the water and he never talked to anyone. If anyone made him angry he would fill there lungs with small amounts of water until he got bored and healed them. Because of this Ecnal was feared. So the small boy lived in the ocean. For some reason he could breath under water and he could talk to the animals of the ocean. The boy soon was forgotten by the villagers since he never came back to his home for he decided that the ocean was his home. He was all alone with the animals until he meet a small girl. The girl was the only one brave enough to even come towards the ocean that was near the village. So when she ran down and stepped into the water Ecnal was furious. He made a wave so big that when it hit the small girl it killed her on impact. The last thing the girl saw was a boy with shining white eyes. Soon news spread like wildfire. It spread so far that it reached the capital. The king, who was a coward at heart, decided to send his best army to go and kill the small boy. The king also ordered the men to kill everyone in the village, for he feared that someone from there could also get the small boys strange powers. The army then reached the village, there weapons in hand, and soon the weapons were stabbing the people that lived there. Ecnal heard the peoples cries and watched as the army burned down the houses that sat there. He watched as the army drew closer and closer to the ocean. Soon all the men were standing on the beach. "You are to be killed demon", the leader of the army spat at the boy who sat in the water. "You may try and kill me, but a demon is far more powerful then any man", Ecnal replied. The man then raised his arm, sword in hand, and ran towards the boy. Ecnal smiled, and winked his eye. The man then stopped charging and started to cough. He coughed and coughed and coughed until he fell to the ground. He died from drowning. The army cried and charged for Ecnal, there anger shown through there movements but they were no match for the boy who killed them all with a snap of his fingers. But Ecnal is not kind and he saved at least two of the men from the army. The boy stepped out of the water and touched one of the mans chest. Ecnal then whispered something into the mans ear. The man then got up and started to beat his comrade until he was dead. The last man of the army then got his sense back and stared at his friend that he killed. He then turned back to Ecnal who stared at him. "Why did I do that?", the man asked. Ecnal sighed. "I made your heart touch your darkness, but now you are to drown in it", Ecnal replied. The man then felt a pain in his chest. He started to scream from the pain but it was soon over. He had drowned in the darkness. Ecnal then walked back into the ocean and left the small village and the army behind him.

Keith stared at the text before he shut it. He placed the old book on his bedside table and blew out the candle. "I need to stop the boy of the ocean", Keith whispered to himself.
