Spencer's POV

I sat in the middle of the park, looking up at strangers who passed occasionally, well mostly to look at the dogs, and cats following them but still.

I had at least ten books with me, I had already finished two of them, but if I ran out there was a library near by.

A long-haired German Shepherd sped towards the place where I was seated, his leach had no person attached. I swooped to grab the leash.

Soon the owner ran after. "Sorry about Roxy" he said panting between breaths.
His hair was very military ready, but with thick curls. His magnificent eyes graced my presence just being near him.

"It's okay" I nod. I was smiling like an idiot, praying to whatever god there is that he wouldn't notice.

He sat next to me, petting his dog.

Thin air surrounded me. I didn't know what to say or what to do or-

"You work for the BAU?" He asked interrupting my thoughts.

I just nodded. It was like he could see right through me. All of the tense emotions made me want to, you know what? I didn't know what I wanted to do.

"I'm not a stalker your badge is on your bag." He pointed to the plastic badge that was clipped to my bag.

That's when I recognized him.

"Wait. aren't you Luke Alvez from the Fugitive Task Force?" I ask. He nodded.

"And if Your badge is correct you are Spencer Reid of the Behavioral Analysis Unit." He was smiling, god that smile could set me on fire.

"Actually it's Dr. Spencer Reid, but okay" I tried to joke with a semi I-really-like-you-but-i-don't-want-you-to-know smile.

But he laughed. I didn't take much pride for being humorous, but he liked me, maybe I don't know.
God I'm a profiler but I can't tell if this guy likes me.

"So Mr-I mean Dr. Reid what are you doing in the middle of a dog park with no dog."

My eyebrows raised and i smiled real big.

"Well Mr. Alvez I come out here to read" I responded.

He nodded and looked at my book.

"Well, I have to admit I have heard of you, and your reputation perceives you perfectly" He had what looked like heart-eyes on his face. But I didn't understand what he meant, and I think he caught on very quickly.

"I heard from my partner that you are not the hand shaking type, and you can read 200,000 words per minute" he began "you worked for Jason Gideon right?"

My face froze as he mentioned Gideon. It has been about two years since his death, but I still wasn't over it.

"Y-yeah I worked with him" I reply trying to hold in my grief for Gideon.

Luke looked around then back at Roxy. That's when I seen it.

It was a patch on his shirt, it was a small rainbow heart with the indentation "take pride" written on it.

So he might actually like me?! So many thoughts soared through my head, what if this guy actually likes me?,what if I actually have a chance with him?

"You um come around here often?" I half mumble out.

He nodded, and looked back at me.

"This park is a great place to meet new people," his smile caught me in an upbeat spiral of feelings.

He slipped something in my hand and he was gone.

I looked at the paper, and watched him leave. Opening it little more it finally showed a quote from Helen Keller and a phone number.

It read
"'The best and most beautiful things in life cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart'-Helen Keller.
You seem like a good guy, maybe we could hang out sometime?
Luke Alvez
(555)-5555-555"

I felt my heart skip beats, he liked me, he really liked me!

But out of nowhere Garcia called

"Sorry to call you in on a Saturday boy-wonder but serial killers don't take breaks!" She said her happy joyful voice melting away my thoughts of dread.

"I-I'll be right in." I didn't even notice the stutter until after I hung up, and I knew Garcia heard it too.

I expected a lot of questions from her soon.
