Chapter 17

Pre- warning this chapter is going to be all about dragon theory.

Chapter 17

"Your head of the dark side of the clock is of course the Darkness dragons. Also known as evil dragons and very rarely black dragons. They are the only dragons were you can tell the gender very easily. Females are purple and black, males are red and black. But both can be completely black so that can be confusing. They came from the side that opposed the Empress in the great war. They crushed up amethyst, onyx and ruby and the witches under the rulers command created them with dark magic. Which is why the dragons can use dark magic as well as their riders. They were also the first ever dragons created," Destiny's hand hovered over the moon at 6.

Her hand then slid to 7 which was a skull "You've had the most interaction with this one. Purple clan. Purple dragons are all female, you might have noticed that. They can teleport within limitations. They are secondary dragons to Dark clan and their origin, like pink are completely unknown."

Ephvangeline hadn't noticed that all the purple dragons she had met were female. But when she thought about it, she hadn't met any male ones. She wondered why that was. And how there could be a clan of only female dragons.

However before she could voice this Destiny's hand and slid to 8 which was just a circle "Air clan, these dragons don't have legs. That's the first thing you'll notice about them. However they are great in the air and tracking. They came from the ancient strong winds. They just flew out of the clouds one day. They also don't breathe fire, instead they have incredibly powerful lungs that and blow dragons away. They are fast in the air and the water."

Ephvangeline shivered as she remembered the air dragons in battle.

Next was 4, the flame symbol, the clearest of them all to Ephvangeline "Fire clan. These dragons can't be burnt by any kind of fire which is nice when dealing with so many fire breathers. They breathe normal fire but they fire is a lot more powerful than any other dragons. They flew out of ancient bushfires."

Ephvangeline was trying not to remember but she just couldn't help it. The fire dragons melted the castle she and Purple Eyes were hiding in. The heat was so intense.

5 A blob with five circles in it, Ephvangeline had no idea what it meant until; "Lava clan, obviously came from volcanoes. Their fire is lava and they are also the largest flying dragon. They live inside volcanoes next to lava which is not only really impressive, it's also where they got their name. Their colours range from brown to orange. They are secondary dragons to fire clan."

Destiny took a moment to catch her breath.

"So there are two more?"

"Correct, those five are the 'evil' side," Destiny explained "the last two are your neutrals... well one is the other is.... I'll just have to explain."

Destiny pointed to the leaf at 3 "Nature clan, also known as forest or plant or balance. They are technically secondary to earth clan but they aren't going to side with anyone. They also have a mysterious origin. These dragons are the balance keepers of the dragon world. They also collect the eggs of all the dragons and find the riders. They rarely fight but they are the second most deadly dragon. They don't breathe fire they have a poison that even the smallest amount is heart stopping. They also can control plants, which is where they got the name natural dragons. They always make sure the sides of the clock are even and balanced. Which is where..." Destiny's hand slid over to 9 the sad mouth "rainbow dragons come into play. These dragons are the most rare. They will only hatch when they are needed most. These dragons are also the most powerful, they can control all fields of magic limitlessly. They are the most deadly and are given to the side of the clock who needs them the most. But we haven't had a rainbow dragon in decades. They are rainbow dragons because of their scales, all of the dragons colours are on them. One of them could take out a whole clan of dragons and their riders."
