Beatlemania was in full swing by mid April. The boys were making more music, and they were in the midst of filming their first film. Weslyn was in a small part of the film and she was jittery as they stood around the studio to film.
"Calm down, will ya, Wes?" Paul asked putting his hand on her shoulder.
"I can't!" She exclaimed clasping her hands together in front of her, "I've never been in a movie before."
"Neither have we," George said stuffing his hands in his pockets. He leaned his back against the wall and he looked at his feet.
They were in what appeared to be a TV studio, filming the boys playing for a live television audience.
"But you've been on TV before," Weslyn said rolling her eyes, "I've never even been to a studio like this before." Ringo laughed and stood next to George.
"Well it's nothing special, Wes." He said shrugging, "Has anyone seen Layla or Lucy around?" He frowned suddenly and looked around.
"Yeah, Layla went with Mandy to the rest room," John said approaching. He rolled his eyes, "Why girls can't go to the bathroom alone, I'll never know."
"What about Lucy?" Weslyn asked before Ringo had a chance to think about it.
"Oh Lucy was talking to some of the dancers that are in this scene," George said nodding over to the red headed girl who was grinning from ear to ear as she talked to the pretty girls. Ringo laughed and rolled his eyes.
"She does like things other than dancing you know." He said with a scoff.
"Wouldn't know." Paul said playfully, "All she talks about anymore is dancing, and how Georgie fell in love with a pretty ballerina."
"Oh and we mustn't forget the letters this ballerina sends her." Weslyn said giggling, "I swear Maria writes her every week."
"She promised to." George said grinning, "And Lucy certainly doesn't mind receiving them."
"Oh please she can't even read them," John said laughing.
"She's learning, John." Ringo scolded, "She's only six." Everyone seemed to forget she was only six.
"Well anyway, she only really looks forward to the photos of Maria's performances." Paul said as Lucy ran up. She was wearing the pink tutu that Mandy had got her and her red hat. This was evidently her new favorite article of clothing.
"She's only six." Ringo said again in response to Paul. She ran up to George and George picked her up in his arms. "Oh and we got a new letter this morning too." Ringo continued, reminding Lucy of something.
She jerked a folded up piece of paper out of the waist of her tutu. She held it out to George. "She sended a letter to you with it." Lucy said grinning. "I didn't read it, but she sended you a picture with it." George smiled and he took the letter from her. He put it in his pocket and smiled.
"What did the dancers tell you?" George asked her. Lucy scrunched her nose up and sighed sadly.
"They said they couldn't teach me to dance, on Saturdays because they were too busy on Saturdays." She sighed.
"I told you I'd find someone to teach you Goose." Ringo laughed. Layla showed up with Mandy then.
"Well then they asked what other day I could learn, and I said Saturday was my only day. They said that Tuesday was their only free day, but I have baseball practice on Tuesday."
"You are the only little girl I know who liked Ballet, and plays Baseball." Paul said laughing.
"Did you get your letter?" Layla asked standing near George. He nodded and Lucy grinned, "Good what did it say?"
"He didn't read it," Weslyn said rolling her eyes.
"I'll read it later!" George insisted. Lucy put her hands on his cheeks.
"Can't you read it now?" She asked pouting, "I wanna see the picture." George sighed and pulled the letter out of his pocket again. He opened it and handed Lucy the photograph. She looked at it as George read the letter silently. When he'd finished he put it back in his pocket and looked up to find everyone staring at him, waiting.
"What?" He asked shrugging. Layla shoved his shoulder and scoffed.
"What does it say then?" Weslyn asked walking closer. George shrugged and Lucy huffed.
"Georgie!"
"Alright, alright, Maria said she would come to the wedding, but only if she had a way to get here and she had a place to stay." George sighed, trying to hide how he felt about this.
"She already told us she was coming to the wedding," Ringo said shrugging, "And Layla promised to have a place to stay already for her when she gets here."
"That's what it says, fellas," George shrugged. Weslyn reached into George's pocket and pulled it out before George could stop her.
"Oi!" He protested, scowling at her.
"Dear George," Weslyn read allowed, "I've missed you! I wanted to see you and the gang again soon. Layla always responds to my letters that I send to Lucy, and she's invited me to her and Ringo's wedding. I would really love to go, but I wouldn't have a date, or a way to get there as a matter of fact," Weslyn smirked and George felt his cheeks getting warm, "Layla wrote me saying I could stay at their house, giving Lucy a way to stay at home while they honeymooned, but I didn't really want to stay in London for so long. So I was wondering if I could stay with you. I don't have to, but it was just an idea. Anyway, I miss you. I'll see you in July I guess. Maria."
George snatched the letter from her and scowled, "You can't mind your own business?" He scolded before he stormed off.
"Hey, we've got filming to do, George!" John called after him. Luckily before George could get away, Brian showed up and brought him back.
"Alright, down to filming," He said, "Richard said you're filming the music first." The boys nodded and grabbed their instruments. They all got into place and George stood front in center in front of the camera.
Weslyn and Layla stood back with Lucy to watch. "I didn't mean to upset him." Weslyn said to Layla. Layla shook her head and crossed her arms.
"Naw, he'll be alright." Layla said, "He wasn't all that mad about it."
"How do you mean?" Weslyn asked frowning as she looked at Paul. He winked at her and she grinned.
"Well he came back," Layla said shrugging, "If he was actually mad about it he wouldn't have come back, Brian or no Brian. He would have gone home." Weslyn nodded as Lucy began to dance around. Weslyn laughed and wished she'd brought her camera.
When the song was over, they boys had to do another take of it this time walking in and putting their instruments on. Weslyn played John's makeup girl. This was her cue.
Weslyn followed them where they were starting and then "Action!" was called. Weslyn was doing her job quite well in her opinion until John started to dance like a maniac to the piano playing 'I"m Happy just to Dance with You'. Weslyn watched him and tried not to laugh.
John said something Weslyn wasn't really paying attention and then they were playing the song again.
Lucy high fived Weslyn, "Great job Wes." She said giggling, "Johnny's funny isn't he?" Weslyn laughed and nodded.
"He is."
