Thomas Conner. The man of mystery, the man of many skills. He was the mechanic at Joey Drew studios, he was the one that handled the in put and out out of ink, and made sure it was distributed properly, so that everything was powered, and that it ran smoothly. Needless to say, he had a very stressful job. He usually had to skip breaks in order to fix leaking pipes, or ones that had burst all together. He did have one bright side to his day, however. And that, was listening to the violinist in the studios orchestra play. She was the one who had called out to him, one day while he was on his rounds. She had spoke about not being able to properly perform in the confines of the recording booth, which had led to her gaining her own office in the studio to play whenever she desired. That office had originally belonged to Thomas, but he had given it up for her when he had heard how elegantly she played.
It was rare, to say the least, to see Thomas actually smile or laugh. He was a very hard working, tough man. He didn't mess around, or play games like the others did from time to time. But that woman, she had the power to change something in that man. It was like magic. One moment, he's giving Wally a hard time for accidentally loosing his keys again, to swaying his head back and forth in a daze, the second she began to play. No one had seen anything like it, almost as if the Thomas Conner they knew, had evaporated, and was replaced with this soft and calm center that he had. It amazed even the likes of Joey Drew, and he was a difficult man to impress.
—-Thomas's POV—-
I was trying to fix some faulty wires in the pump control in Sammy's office, when he comes striding into the room, a big goofy grin on his face. He sits down, and starts scribbling away at some sheets with a pen. "I swear, this pump control is gonna stay busted some day" I muttered to myself, using some electrical tape to hold a group of wires against the unit. Sammy hummed in response to my muttering. "Ya know, you should consider yourself lucky, Conner" he shot back at me. I chuckled, looking up. "and why's that, Laurence?" He turned to look at me, an eyebrow cocked upward. "Well, for one, you get to spend about a quarter of
Your day in the auditorium" he began, listing the reasons on his fingers. "You don't have too deal with everyone coming in to mess with leavers and pulling in your office twenty four seven, and sat but not least, you don't have to worry about deadlines" Sammy spoke. I only chuckled. "Yeah, that's true I guess. But you, Laurence, get to spend all day listening to the best music in the whole county" I reminded, going back to messing with wires and cords."Best music, or best violinist?" I flinched, and accidentally nudged a loose panel inside the until, causing more wires to fall loose. I groaned in annoyance as I glared over at Sammy. He smirked back at me, a knowing look in his orange eyes. "What, you know it's true, Conner" he stated in a smug tone, earning another groan as I pushed all the wires back up, and closed the Panel, finishing the wire set up, and closing the unit. "There, good as new. And, for your information, Laurence, I enjoy all of the music, not just the violin" with that, I left his office. My face burning up as I thought back to earlier this morning, when I had seen the woman swaying around, playing the instrument. She truly was natures finest.
