I slip on the silver cocktail dress Kelsey is lending me then put on the heels as well. I've already allowed her and Lily to do my hair and make-up, which came out flawlessly of course. Now, we wait for Liam.
"I feel like she's missing something," Kelsey mutters.
"Agreed."
I look down at my appearance, feeling satisfied. They're probably just over-reacting or something.
"I know! Accessories, that's what it is," Kelsey exclaims with a snap of her fingers. Soon enough, she's dragging me to her bed and picks up a box filled with all sorts of accessories. She's digging through the box to find a pair of earings that match the necklace and bracelet she's already chosen by the time there'a a knock on the bus' door.
"I'll get it!" Lily bellows then bounces to the door. "Hello Liam! Oh, are those for Della?"
I'm about to venture out and see hwat Lily was talking about when Kelsey shouts out, "found them!" She shoves the earings in my hands and impatiently waits for me to put them on. "Finally," she mumbles once they're both in. THen she proceeds to drag me out to where Liam an Lily are conversing.
I stumble along behind Kelsey, clumsy in these heels. With one last yank of my arm she lets go. This causes me to lose my balance and I start falling, but then Liam's strong arms are wrapped around me and I have regained my balance. A blush rises on my cheeks as Lily and Kelsey giggle at us. There's no way that was an accident. Squinting at Kelsey, she smirks in return and mouths the words you're welcome. A small smile tugs on my lips as I roll my eyes.
Liam and I stay in the embrace for a few moments longer before Lily clears her throat. "I believe you two have a party to attend..."
"Oh, right!" Liam drops his arms and steps out of the hug, awkwardly scratching the back of his head. "Um, I got you flowers, but Lily already put them in a vase."
"Aren't they gorgeous?" She muses, stepping aside so that I can see.
"Beautiful."
"Okay, the flowers are pretty. Now get going before you guys are late!" Kelsey orders, pushing us towards the door. "Have fun!"
I follow Liam to his car. He opens the door for me and I get in. Without a word we speed off, heading to the party.
***
The release party is at some fancy nightclub that management was able to rent out for the night. All around me people are dressed to party in expensive attire. I try not to gawk at all the beautiful women surrounding us.
"Would you like something to drink?" Liam questions. His lips are only inched from my ear so that I'm able to hear him above the loud music.
"Yes, please. A Dr. Pepper would be great."
"Got it. I will be right back."
Liam leaves for the open bar, leaving me with Zayn and Niall as well as Zayn's girlfriend, Lily. We make small talk until Liam returns and hands me my beverage. I thank him as he takes his seat beside me. For some reason my skin tingles when he accidentally bumps knees with me. Ignoring it, I take a sip of my soda.
"So, how have you been handling the crazy tour schedule?"
"Fine, I suppose. I mean who need sleep anyways?"
Liam chuckles at my joke. It's a deep, hearty laugh. A laugh that releases a dozen butterflies to flit around in my stomach. I can't help but let myself be captivated by his big, brown eyes. They enchant me as I stare into them.
"Do you miss your friends and family?"
I snap out of y trance.
"Yeah, but it's not too bad. I talk with my mum and dad every week, have talked to some girls from the studio a few times, but my boyfriend and I haven't really spoken to each other recently.."
