Dispensing Grace (Re-realized)

This is actually my second one writing about this particular topic. I just suddenly felt the urge to write about this again and this time I want to particularly address Christians like me.

I won't try to explain what grace is all about because I simply can't. God's grace never fails to surprise and amaze me so trying to explain it would just be like trying to write a book but couldn't figure out where to begin and where to end.

The first time I truly received God's revelation about His grace was in the year 2010 when He blatantly told me, "It's not about you, it's all about Me!" That simple phrase changed my perspective and turned my world upside down.

Whenever I feel unappreciated, underrated, longing for approval and recognition, HE reminds that it is all for His glory. "It's not about you; but let the world see Me through you." Only then was I able to overcome my craving for preeminence. I found myself completely satisfied with God's approval.

Whenever I feel unworthy, ashamed  and guilty because of my sins, mistakes and failures, He is  there reminding me that it is still about Him. All my sins were paid and all my failures are embraced. If He, the Judge of all judges, has already forgiven me how can anybody still accuse me? What He thinks of me is what matters most, and He thinks that I am His beloved, then I can forgive myself and continue forward with my life filled with joy and renewed purpose.

As I freely enjoy grace, I found myself selfishly dispense it.

I do not give compliments to those deserving because of  insecurities. I am quick to judge Christians who failed, blaming them for not praying enough.

God broke my heart.

"We love because He first loved us."

He let me experience His grace not for myself, but for everyone to experience it too.

I want to go deeper from here.

We always declare that we live our lives for the Lord but obliviously still living for ourselves. Most of our prayers consist of asking God to bless our families, show favor to our plans, give us the best future. Where, in that prayer, is God's interest included? I am not trying to negate that kind of prayer; I truly believe that God is so delighted to bless us.

That's the beauty of His grace; He still embraces us even though we go after what is in His hands rather than what is in His heart.

We desire happiness from Him, but He wants to give us holiness so we can be like Him.

We go after what pleases us, but He wants to offer what purifies us.

We want Him to satisfy us, but more than that He wants to sanctify us.

As lights of this world, cities on a hill and salts of the earth; the only thing that God commanded us to do is to love Him and love His people. It is not easy, I know, that is why it will take the love of God to overflow through us first.

Do not hold back a compliment or a word of appreciation to someone.

Instead of judging quickly, pray and intercede quickly.

Let grace overflow so the world will know the God of grace.
