I have NEVER told my mom "no" ever. I did everything with my mom. Well, I mean being the only child could be the cause of that but I'm not complaining.
During the time where I was learning how to ride my bike, my mom was there. When my first tooth came out, my mom was there to clean off the bike off my lip from the fact that I had forced it out. She was even there for my first 8th-grade prom.
I love my mom with my heart but everything change when I started to get older.
It all started when I heard yelling from the kitchen:
FLASHBACK
I was just 8 years old when I first heard the yelling. I was only 8 so you know I had a bedtime.
I had to be in bed by 9:30 so, around 8 I would brush my teeth, wash my face and put on my favorite Princess Tina pj's on. My mom and dad would always tuck me in for bed but, that night she didn't come so got out of my bed to go see what was the hold-up.
As I got closer and closer to the stairs the screams began to get louder.
"Richard I don't know why you are so mad!" I heard my mom yelling from the top of her lungs.
"I am mad because I know you are cheating on me Arkeisha! I can smell the scent of a cologne that I don't even wear!" My father screamed back.
"I just hugged an old friend that I haven't seen in a while!" My mother confessed. I could hear her voice starting to crack indicating that she was on the verge of tears.
"Oh, don't try and cry now! You weren't crying when he had his arms wrapped around you!"
Suddenly there was a sound of glass being clashed against a hard surface.
"I would never cheat on you Richard and you know that! At least I don't go around doing it with rando-"
SMACK
The loud sound was so loud that it echoed through the house.
Cries were being heard from downstairs. Also, a loud sound from the door being slammed also echoed through the house.
"Richard! Richard RICHARD!" my mother cried
I rushed off the stairs in the kitchen to see glass on the floor but not only that but my mother on the floor sobbing repeating "don't leave me".
"Mom?" I asked walking up to her
"Mom are you ok?" I asked again hoping or a response.
"Mom pleas-"
"Skye! go to your room" My mother roared at me.
Tears started to run down my face because not only did that hurt my feeling but my mother never yelled at me.
"No" I replied daringly
FLASHBACK OVER
That night a lot of things changed.
For example,
1)my dad left me. That night I never heard nor seen him ever again. 2)My mother and I barely ever had conversations anymore. 3) My mom became an alcoholic.
As years and years came by I had to1) Learn how to clean the house, 2) Do my own hair, 3) Get a job because my mom got fired from her job and she just began to slump around the house.
So, it was like she was never there for me so I had to get up and raise my self on my own.
