Life is all about beginnings. New chapters. A fresh start. Everyone gets their clean slate. It seems to me, thought, that I don't. I am condemned.

It all started when Matt came along. The captain of the footbal team. Blond hair, ocean deep blue eyes. My crush all through middle school and high school. I know, I know, that sounds cliché. But it's the ugly truth.

When you make it to high school, there's the social pyramid. Matt was at the top, as usual. I, on the other hand, was quite a social wreck. Yes. I was that dark and mysterious type of teenager. Right at the bottom of the pyramid. All I needed was some attention from Matt. I needed his eyes on mine, so I could feel like I was floating in the Caribbean sea.

My wish came true on a cold Saturday night. Not just any Saturday night. Prom night. That lame school event where anti-social people like me annualy overcome their capacity of being awkward during romantic, slow dances. But when you're graduating from high school, you get sentimental and decide to give it a shot. I certainly tried to make my way through prom night. It just didn't happen.

I was going to prom with my best friend Nick. He was always there for me when I needed a friend or a punching bag. I was glad to go with him, because I knew he wouldn't make things awkward. However, he wasn't that much of a gentleman, since I had to drive him to prom. He didn't have a car.

It was seven o'clock.I was on my way to Nick's house when someone jumped into my car when I stopped at the signal. I couldn't tell who it was for a couple of seconds, when my eyes adjusted to the dark of the night. Matt Donovan was sitting in my car, staring into my greenish eyes. I was speechless when he broke the silence and said:

-Drive.
