I sat in boring old history class with my best friend Megan beside me. It's like any other boring day at Pine Bridge High School. Mr. Redding's voice was only murmurs as I zoned out, looking at our little town outside the window. A vast forrest surrounded and swerved through our town, Pine Bridge. We had little shops and diners and apartment complexes and rather large houses surrounding them in the distance. There was a get together at the local diner with all of my friends after school and after that we were going to a college party. Megan has never been so I am going to make sure she doesn't get in trouble. Turning my attention to the front of the class I groaned internally at the fact that we were doing Pine Bridge history. Pine Bridge has a very haunting past the story I have heard many times. Old folk tales and fake stories about things that happened during an uneasy time here. The war weakened food supply and our town. When it finally hit us at our door step we turned them down. They attacked us, as did the enemy. That's where old folklore comes in. It's believed that werewolves and vampires helped save the town. Their existence was no longer secret so they fled. But it's said that they came back. It's all rubbish to me, I mean are we literally going to let our poor little town go that low?
Megan nudged my arm and looked at me with her excited warm brown eyes. She couldn't wait till the party and kept telling me about it non stop. She was going to wear a cute dark green dress that was just above her knees and made her eyes stand out awesomely and ever since I told her that she can wait to wear it. In fact she brags about it but I just shrug it off and giggle at her. She has shoulder length curly brown hair that cascades wonderfully even though she straightens it, brown eyes, and a slim build. I have grey blue eyes, slightly longer straight brown hair and a slim build. She tells me all the time that I am a 'hot chick' but she's way more beautiful to me. Sighing I looked at my notebook and began scribbling notes down. Megan tapped my arm and mouthed, " What's wrong?" I shook my head and looked at Mr. Redding. He was younger but always angry and my least favorite teacher. The bell rang and I could jump for joy instead I turned to Megan. " Lunch time!" I said excitedly. She jumped and clapped her hands and I gave her my 'are you kidding me' look while grabbing my stuff and put it in my bag. I hooked arms with her and walked to the lunch room. Lunch hour was my favorite time of the day. Food and sleep were mine and Megan's friends, what can we say? We both brought our lunches so we didn't have to wait in line. Ever since freshman year we've done this. We walked to our table and sat down and began unwrapping our food. This year, senior year, was the year that Megan and I proclaimed we would not deal with high school bull anymore.
" So, Kitty Kat, what are you wearing tonight?" Megan asked me. I glared at her, I hate it when she calls me that, my older brother calls me that and it completely annoys me. " Well I was planning on wearing clothes," I said. She gave me the look and I scoffed. " I don't like it when you call me Kitty Kat. It's more of a pet name," I growled. Nodding she bit into her sandwich. I took out a pretzel and popped it in my mouth as Megan's boyfriend came over and kissed her cheek lightly. I smiled. I wish I was that lucky. Pouting I popped another pretzel in my mouth. " Oh what's wrong Kitten, why are you so sad?" he said in a baby voice. " Shut up," I grumbled. I got up and gave Megan the rest of my lunch. " Why are you leaving Katherine? I thought we were going to eat together today," she pouted. " Nah I want to walk around. Enjoy your lunch with your boyfriend," I replied sweetly while tapping her nose. She smiled and turned her undivided attention to Toby. I have to act sweetly towards her, she's my girl my best friend she is the only one I trust, other than Mark, my brother. I turned and saw a bunch of guys look the other way. I looked at all of them in disgust, cursing myself for wearing a mini skirt today. It was a cute white one that came a little to high on my leg. Just an inch under my butt. I also topped it off with a blue tank top, a black over shirt, and some long and short necklaces. I liked it this morning! I started to walk out of the lunch room and down the now empty halls. I came to my locker and opened it. My handy bag was hanging on my locker mirror and I got my lip gloss out and started reapplying. Suddenly my hairs on my neck stood up. I looked around and saw a breathtaking male walking down the hall with a school map in his hands. He hadn't seen me yet because he was so absorbed in his map. He had curly black hair that came to his eyebrows and hung in his eyes. His eyes were guarded by long black lashes and I couldn't see them. His tan skin was rough and toned. He wore a black shirt and a plaid over shirt over it. He also wore dark blue Levi's that hug his wonderful figure and Vans. I looked back at my locker. Katherine, you can't just stare at the new guy. You can't just stare at any one. I got all my stuff to go home and closed my locker. Turning to walk away I felt a tap on my shoulder. Turning around I caught a glimpse of his eyes. They captivated me. They were the most beautiful green eyes I have ever seen. Electrifying. His hair hung low in his eyes and his face was inches from mine. " Yes?" I asked breathlessly. I looked at his lips, which were perfect in every way, and he smirked. I looked in his eyes. Annoyed by his cockiness and the way he distracts me with his looks. Wait what?
