☠THE TASK☠
Welcome to the first task! Also known as: The third day of the competition!
That's right! Because you chose Bright, you get to skip all that nasty, yucky, bloodbath stuff and get straight into the good part. Bloodstained and weary, you've been wandering the caves for what seems like ages with little success in navigating them. There's a deep shiver settling itself into your bones, chilling you to your very core. The steady drip of water coming off of the dark rock is enough to drive anyone mad—but don't worry, relief is on its way.
In this task, you have chosen Euphoria, and therefore get to visit our lava caves! The perfect tourist destination for any weary tribute, there's no better place to dry off your damp clothes and bask in the warm glow of molten rock churning like a river so close to you. However, here's where the fun part begins.
This lava, like all lava (I mean, have you ever even heard of lava?) is very hot. And the water dripping from the caves quickly evaporates into a pleasant, rosemary scented steam. Quite a beautiful touch on the behalf of our wonderful Game Makers, many of which have had more than their fair experiences with heat. Like a sauna, this steam will bring you into a relaxed, almost zenlike trance. By the time you realize its real effects, it may be far too late.
The drug released by the evaporating water is what we like to call a Smiling Death. Meaning, when you die, it will probably be with a smile on your face. Asphyxiation is much less common than diving into that bubbling heat for a quick soak, however, we would advise you looking for the exit as quickly (if you still have a sense of time by the time you realize the danger) as possible. The thing is, however, that time is limited and the way you entered may not necessarily be accessible by the time you leave. The longer you stay, the higher the levels of lava will begin to rise, consuming your camp as well as your supplies and friends if you don't climb quick enough.
We sent in a few test dummies just to check that the temperature of our synthetic lava would not kill you instantly. Let's just say that after they struggled to come out for more than twenty minutes, their minds were literally blown.
