Kat’s POV

As Kat walked into the Chapel, she felt her breath catch in her throat. It was beautiful. Stained glass windows adorned the sides, casting rays of coloured light where the sun shone through them. On the walls, were paintings depicting the crucifixion of Jesus, scenes of torture running along the walls. There was a raised stage, with heavy red curtains hanging on either side. In the middle of rows of pews, was a space, creating an aisle up the middle of the Chapel. Kat half expected a bride to come through the door. She turned to look at her friends, and saw Holly standing on tiptoes to look around. Kat took a moment to wonder why she bothered standing on her tiptoes, considering that she was taller than half the people here. Since she was thinking random thoughts, she also took some time to wonder if penguins had knees, before returning from Planet Kat, where thoughts run wild. Kat shook her head, then stood on tiptoes herself, because although Holly may be a small giant, Kat herself was relatively short. She scanned the rows of seats, already overflowing with excited students, until she saw a familiar brown head. “MAISY!” Holly shrieked, obviously she had already spotted her, Kat thought, as the tall, strong brunette began barging her way towards her friend. Maisy turned, and upon seeing Holly fighting her way through the crowd, started grinning. Holly suddenly stopped, and shouted, “MOVE OUT OF THE WAY, I’M TRYING TO HAVE A REUNUNION HERE!” People turned to look at her, before clearing a path. Kat stifled a surge of laughter. She nudged Hayley,

“I wonder if that’s how Moses parted the Red Sea?” Hayley burst out laughing at the thought of a middle aged man, standing in the middle of the desert, holding a stick, and screaming at the ocean.

“I’m not sure about Moses, but that’s definitely how Holly would have done it” Hayley managed to say, between spurts of laughter. Kat glanced over, and saw that Holly’s path had begun to close up. She quickly grabbed Hayley’s hand, and pulled her through it, before it disappeared in a mass of excited adolescents. The first thing Kat saw when she arrived at her destination, was Holly and Maisy hugging. The second thing that she saw, was that Maisy was having difficulty breathing, so she quickly stepped in and separated them. Maisy shot Kat a grateful glance, before staggering back, as a blonde midget charged into her. “MAISYYYYYYY!” Hayley squealed, as she gave her a hug. Kat rolled her eyes. Hayley could be a bit overenthusiastic at times. But then again, she thought to herself, it sure helps liven up the mood. After the girls had exchanged hugs, and found a pew that would seat all of them in a row, they settled down, and started talking about what they’d done on the holidays. Kat started telling them, about the torture that she had been put through.

“Every day, I got pranked about ten times!” Kat shook her head, “My brothers would try to catch me unawares, but I found most of the tripwires before a bucket of who knows what could fall on my head” At the ‘who knows what’, Holly and Maisy exchanged a glance. Kat saw their shared look, and was instantly suspicious. She found it difficult to trust people. “What is it?”

“Ummmm, you do realise that you have chickens, right?” Holly asked.

Kat stared at her, “I don’t see how that is relevant to this conversation. Please enlighten me” Maisy started to giggle, as Holly continued.

“In case you didn’t notice, chickens poo, and they poo a lot.” Kat was confused, until she realised what they were suggesting.

“You don’t think they? They wouldn’t, would they? Oh those little buggers!” Holly and Maisy were laughing hysterically, and Hayley wasn’t far from it. Kat silently vowed to find out the exact contents of those buckets when she got home. For now, however, she contented herself with visions of her brothers in a guillotine, with her as the executioner.

Kat shook her head, smiling to herself, as Holly started rambling on about her pony, Cherri, who she was entirely obsessed with. Suddenly, Mr Campbells, the school chaplain, walked in. Silence fell incredibly quickly. You could almost hear the entire grade of year 7 holding their breath, as Mr Campbells walked down the aisle between the pews. Kat nudged Hayley, and whispered to her, “I hope we get Ms Watergrass”

Hey guys! Ok, so I had already pre-written most of the story, which is why all my chapters have gone up at once. Some of them are kind of short and some are kind of long, but I really hope you still like them 😊
