*Isiah's POV*
"Pipper we do not have time to stop for some pregnancy tests," I snap at her. She doesn't understand the potential trouble that we are in right now. I need to tell her, it's only fair.
"Isiah, Isiah, hello," Pipper says with a hint of annoyance.
"What Pipper, I need to tell you something that hopefully helps you understand the trouble we are in."
She looks at me with an innocent face, this poor girl. She's never done anything wrong her whole life and now she's stuck in the middle of my mess.
I begin with my distraught story, "A few years ago, when I was around 17, my brother had gotten himself into a darker business. He and his, at the time, girlfriend were delivering drugs to earn money. He had gotten her pregnant and needed the extra cash. His desperate need for it drove him to larger deals," I pause for a second, then continue.
"Then came the, 'Harrison Deal,' this was the ultimate deal breaker of there loyalty to the system. By this time, he had married the girl, her name was Holly. She was 6.5 months pregnant and was helping him deliver this. They were pulling up to the house when they both saw two men open firing at each other, he pulled Holly over the center console and lead her to the back of the house. The drugs were in his back pocket. In the back of his head he knew I had a gun so called me for 'protection'. He never explained what was fully happening there so I didn't know what I was getting myself into. After about 15 mins I showed up. There was no one outside, but I followed what his text he had sent said. I run around to the back and walk upstairs inside. There were two men and him and Holly tied up. They saw my gun and ran out of the house, in a matter of 30 seconds the house was in flames. I untied both of them and grabbed my brothers hand. He grabbed Holly's, but just as he reached for it, the floor gave out beneath us. My brother and I fell through the old house's floor. I lunged forward to get a grip of him and forced both of us out of the house. The whole house went down in blaring red flames. To this day, he still blames me for her death. That is why he is so desperate to get his hands on you and kill you," I share this story with her in hopes that she'll realize the danger."Isiah, I'm sorry. I didn't know it was this serious," her voice breaks down into a tremble.
"Don't be sorry, I just needed you to know why I'm being so stubborn about stopping and getting out of this place," I reply back to her.
"Where are we going"
My face meets hers and worry grows between us, "Let's go to the airport and find out," I try to say with a confident voice.
*Pipper's POV*
We arrive at LAX, this place is huge. The crowds of people come in intervals of about 10 minutes. The sounds of conversation fill the atmosphere.
Our feet move quick with our heads down. We walk up to an airline and ask for there departing flights today.
Departing Flights:
- New York City, New York
-Dallas, Texas
-Chicago, Illinois
-Salt Lake City, Utah
and the list goes on for about 13 more larger cities.
We choose Boston, Massachusetts."We'll take two tickets to Boston, please," Isiah says with a nice smile.
"Of course, Sir. That'll be $1,253, your flight leaves in 3 hours. I will need both of your full names and driver licenses," the lady with dark hair pinned up says.
We both hand over our licenses and wait for the tickets.
"And do we have any luggage here today," she asks with a nice smile.
"Uhm, yes," I say with a trembling smile. We get the tickets and leave to security. The line takes us about 30 minutes to get through. We find our gate , and sit down.
"Isiah, I love you," I say with a smile.
"I love you too," he says back with a kiss on the forehead following it.
I fall asleep on his shoulder while we wait for the flight.
"Group 8 may now line up to board," a voice on the intercom says.
"Pipper, Pipper we have to go now," Isiah says softly. I stand up grabbing his hand and following his lead.
We board the plane, he sits in seat 9B and I sit in 9A. I lean against the wall and look out the window while he holds my hand.
"Good Evening ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. Today's flight will be approximately uh 5 hours and 25 minutes. Boston has temperatures of about 77 degrees with 15 mph winds coming southeast. Our estimated arrival time is about 5:37 in the morning, Boston time. Thank you for choosing your American Airlines," a man with a rough voice speaks over everyone.
We both fall asleep for hours, we wake up to the wheels squealing against the runway.
