Hey guys! So this chapter is going to start 6 years after Olivia met Marge and Don. So, enjoy!
6 Years Later
I leaned against the wall in my bedroom, as I waited for the clock to change from 11:59 to 12:00. I just wanted to be done with being treated as a child, because once the time changes, I'm not longer a child, I'll be a teenager.
"How many times do I have to tell you to go to bed? First it was an hour ago, then ten minutes, now one minute." My adopted father, Don sighed, as he opened the door to my bedroom. My adoptive mother, Marge was close behind him, an amused grin on her lips.
"Dad, this is a big deal! As of today, I'm 13. And it's been 6 full years since you adopted me." I smiled, as I wrapped a piece of hair around my finger as I waited the longest minute of my life.
"Liv." My mother spoke, and I quickly looked at her.
"Yeah?" I questioned, and she smiled as she walked across the carpet and to my side. She wrapped her arms around me and held me tightly.
"Happy Birthday sweetie." She breathed, and I hugged her back tightly.
After my mother and I parted, my father ruffled my hair before giving me a quick hug.
"Can I just stay up the rest of the night?" I asked, as I tried to give my parents the best smile I could, but both laughed before my father started to push me in the direction of my bed.
"Go to sleep, and we can discuss where you want to go to dinner tomorrow night." He spoke, and I groaned. I climbed back under the sheets and pulled them up to my chin as both of my parents sat on either side of the bed.
"Thank you both so much." I breathed, as my mother grabbed my hand.
"Being parents to you is the best thing that has ever happened. Now, please get some sleep. You have to attend school and we have work." She smiled, before she kissed my head.

After a long day of school, my Mom picked me up and took me to the precinct. As we drove, she reached into her purse and handed me an envelop.
"You got this in the mail today, and I thought you might want to see it." She spoke, as she looked at me through the rear view mirror.
"What is it?" I asked, and she frowned.
"It's from Serena." She spoke, and I quickly shoved the envelop back into her purse before leaning my head against the window.
"I don't want anything to do with her. She is a monster, and I'm happy to be away from her." I huffed, before completely blocking out anything my mother said.
Both of my parents recommended that I contact Serena and see if she had anything to say regarding what she did, but I didn't want to hear her lies. She always lies, and that's how she got me back time and time again after I was taken by child protective services.
"Sweetie, gonna get out so you can see your Dad?" My mother questioned, as she stood next to my open door. I looked at her and swallowed hard.
"Promise me that I never have to talk to her, okay?" I spoke, as my eyes filled with tears.
"Oh love! Contacting her is your choice! Your father and I know that you are mature enough to make that decision, so please make it when you are ready. We just don't want you to hate us in the future if we tell you now that you can't contact her. Okay?" She spoke, and I nodded as I blinked a few tears away.
"Okay." I whispered, and she smiled gently at me as she pushed my hair away from my face.
"Now, lets get going. I know your father really wants to see you, because this is a huge day for you. You are finally a teenager."
[*]
After my father's partner gave me my birthday gift, we left the precinct and I had a brand new leather jacket. My parents took me to this small bistro near the river, and as we sat and waited for dinner to come, I noticed a decently large family walk in.
"Glad that you are an only child?" My father asked, as he took a drink from his water.
"Uh, I guess." I replied slowly, as I twirled my hair around my finger again.
"Do you know them?" My mother asked, as I kept my eyes glued to this boy who had sparkly blue eyes and a really bad haircut.
"No, I don't really know a lot of people. Just a few people who are my friends in school." I replied, and my mother nodded, but she looked in the direction I was still staring and smiled.
"He's kinda cute." She grinned, but I shook my head.
"Have you seen that haircut?" I mused, and she laughed quietly.
[*]
When school started back up on Monday, my parents dropped me off together because they had a meeting. As I walked into the front of the school with my bag over my shoulder, the principal called me into the main office.
"Olivia, would you mind doing me a huge favor?" He asked, as he ran his hand over his horrible wig, that he still insists is his real hair.
"Sure Mr. Stevenson." I smiled, because it was the closest I could get to laughing.
"Well, we have a new student in your grade, and he needs someone to show him around. Would you be willing to do that?" He asked, and I nodded slowly.
"Sure. Where is he?" I mused.
"Right in my office. His name is Elliot Stabler. He is a talker, so beware." He smiled, and I sighed. I followed him into his office, and stopped when I was in the doorway.
"Elliot, this is your tour guide Olivia Benson-Cragen!" Mr. Stevenson exclaimed, as if it was some amazing news that I was here.
The boy stood up, and we made eye contact. I wanted to laugh now, because that boy is the one I saw at the restaurant, and his hair looked even worse in person.
