I've done my time,
In the lonely shadow.
Full of disease and grime,
Dirty waters so shallow.
But every time I try,
To step into the light.
It grows dark again, I cry,
For a love that doesn't bite.
There's no such thing is there?
A partner in crime,
That knows good times,
One that will pine,
Just to be mine,
That sees me for me,
And who I am is fine.
There's one for me,
She's out there, don't you see?
Stop trying to fill me up,
With bullshit and glee.
I know who she is,
But her shadow is looming,
Like a guitar, she's tuning,
And my heart was blooming,
Before the dooming.
Cast aside like a doll,
When she's too old to play,
I hear everyone's calls,
To look to a brighter day.
I make that shining,
With my own silver lining,
I don't need her for me,
To look up and see,
My stars are aligned,
And it happened just in time.
If she wants to walk beside me,
On the cold road ahead,
She won't be able to divide me,
From where my soul is lead.
But I welcome her company,
It fills my heart with glee.
I would share my care,
If she would only dare,
To meet my loving stare,
And return it happily bared.
I'm making my fate,
Devoid of hate,
Or tough debate,
I won't be late,
To destiny's call,
And I cannot fall,
Stutter or stall,
If I climb every wall,
That blocks my way.
What can I say?
My past was gray,
But it's another day,
Making my own way,
Breaking through the clay,
That coats my soul,
Making a hole,
To get past the droll,
Away from the coals,
Of this fire burning,
I'm constantly learning,
About myself,
How I can help,
With my spiritual wealth,
Endless human health,
That would be just fine,
A picture of the times,
People meeting death in lines,
Paying ephemeral fines,
But I see the greatest signs,
In my heart so full of mines,
An endless dance of caring chimes,
And spiritual mimes,
Silent and moving,
Slowly proving,
That there's good in this world,
It's just mute and curled,
Under a serpents fist,
We must resist,
This hating cyst,
And cry out for humanity...
