Sunlight filtered through the translucent cream curtains, softening it's intensity as it lightly illuminated the once caliginous bedroom. Weak sunbeams spanned on the whiskered face of the resident still dozing on the lush, pure white comforter. The world was silent, almost as if the earth it self had shut down.
The rustling of the leaves from the morning breeze.
The welcoming chirps of the morning birds.
The rumbling of engines caused by passing cars.

Tan eyelids began to twitch. The slight warmth of the sun's rays causing long, pale eyelashes to flutter open revealing deep royal blue eyes. Naruto blinked rapidly, adjusting to the light assaulting his irises. Taking a deep breath, the blond just laid on the safe haven of 'their' bed, unwilling to move and accept the new day. He turned his head to stare at the classic framed window by his side. Blue eyes gazed at the hypnotic movements of the curtains as it swished and flapped softly by the wind of noiseless, whirling ceiling fan.
Frowning at the welcoming sunlight, Naruto manoeuvred his body to the opposite side and he began to gaze at the man sleeping beside him. Beautiful, aristocrat face; relaxed and dozing. Long, jet black locks fell across his smooth cheek. Pale skin that almost rivalled the white of their comforter.
The blond smiled lovingly, reaching out to brush away the ebony bang that partially covered the face of the man he adores. He laid his hand on the warm, ivory toned cheek as his eyes just took in the image of Sasuke...
Who was right here...
By his side...
'But for how long?'
Naruto's blissful face dropped suddenly, his sunshine smile forming into a trembling frown. He removed his small tan hand that was perched on Sasuke face and brought it back to his side before he let out a shaky exhale. Worrying thoughts filled his head as he continued to watch Sasuke; as if he would leave any moment.
Leave Naruto any moment.
'Sasuke's been so distant lately. He's always been the silent type but seriously? He doesn't even acknowledge my existence anymore! He doesn't tease me or call me a dobe. That teme doesn't even touch me anymore. Why? What happened to us? I thought we were fi-'
"Naruto!"
Naruto looked up, eyes wide and form rigid; like he was woken up from some internal trance. He was met with piercing jade eyes, looking back at him with concern.
Sakura sighed quietly, laying the side of her face with her palm as she scrutinised Naruto with her curious gaze. The whiskered man in return a sheepish smile that was too forced to be genuine.
"Yeah Sakura-chan?" He asked, faking enthusiasm in his voice.
"What's wrong Naruto? I've been calling your name for some time now and you didn't answer."
The blond cocked his head to the side and the pinkette couldn't help but smile in amusement at the cute gesture.
"What do you mean? I'm fine Sakura-chan! I swe-"
"Don't lie to me Naruto. I've been friends with you long enough to see through your bullshit." Sakura's voice cut in like a sharp dagger.
Naruto dropped his act, his sapphire eyes becoming downcast. He looked down at the steaming cup of his creamy coffee, letting the steam hit his face. His thoughts began to jumble around in his head and the bustle the waiters and patrons in the quant but busy coffee shop was not helping.
