The journey to Ice Nation was mostly silent. Bellamy would check on her every so often and Clarke would assure him that she was fine. It didn't take as long as Clarke expected to get there, not that she was complaining, she wanted to get this over with.

Bellamy drove up to the outskirts of their land and parked the rover in the line of trees.

"You gonna be alright to walk the rest of the way? I don't want to get the rover stuck." Bellamy turned to her.

"I'll be fine, the walk will do me good." Clarke smiled.

Bellamy nodded and climbed out. He went round to Clarke's side, opening the door before helping her out the vehicle. Clarke muttered a thanks and pulled her hand out of his quickly. Bellamy pretended not to notice the tingle that shot up his arm at their touch. He followed Clarke as she walked determinedly towards Roan's fortress. Clarke had been here before whereas Bellamy had only been around the perimeter. They reached the village and Bellamy felt uncomfortable under the stares of the villagers. Clarke didn't seem affected by it so Bellamy kept his eyes forward and followed her.

Two guards blocked their entrance and Clarke stepped forward. Bellamy resisted the urge to reach out and pull her back.

"We're here to see King Roan." Clarke said clearly.

"The king isn't seeing anyone." The left guard stated.

"This is important, tell him Clarke is here to make a deal." Clarke said.

The guard nodded his head and walked through the door, closing it behind him. The second guard positioned himself in front of the door, causing Clarke to step back. She showed no fear and Bellamy was actually proud of her. Moments later, the door swung open and the guard stepped out.

"Follow me." He said gruffly.

Clarke glanced at Bellamy who nodded his head and the pair stepped through the door. The corridor was dark and damp, torches lit the walls but Clarke still had to squint slightly to see what was ahead of her. They reached another door that was guarded by another large man. The guard leading them nodded to his fellow guard and the door was pushed open. They climbed a long spiral staircase before they came to a set of double doors. Clarke's back was on fire and her feet were killing but she didn't let it show as the doors were pushed open to reveal Roan's 'throne room'.

Clarke and Bellamy were escorted into the room and the doors were closed behind them. Roan sat on his throne, his crown propped on his head. He looked up to his visitors and smiled.

"Clarke, Bellamy. To what do I owe the pleasure." Roan said lightly.

"We need your help." Bellamy answered for them.

"Why do I get the feeling I'm about to be asked to go to war, again." Roan smirked.

"Because you are." Clarke said. "Have you heard of the howlers?"

"Yes." Roan replied, his face turned sour.

"We had an incident with them, one of their men killed one of ours and now they want Clarke to become their healer." Bellamy said.

"I don't see the problem?" Roan said as his eyes flicked between Clarke and Bellamy. He had noticed Clarke's bump as soon as she walked into the room. It was hard to miss, she was huge.

"If she goes with them, she won't get to see any of her friends, her mother, any of her people again." Bellamy explained.

"And judging by your faces I'm guessing the unborn child is involved." Roan added, pointing to Clarke's stomach.

"Yes. If I join them, I lose my baby. Neither of us will see our child grow." Clarke said sadly.

"Our?" Roan said, his brow raising.
