chapter eight - "dates"

I GRABBED THREE OUTFITS from my closet, fixating my gaze on them, emma stood beside me; her arms crossed.

"just wear all of them." emma says with a laugh plopping herself onto the bed.

i roll my eyes with a groan. "i don't know what to wear just pick one for me."

"fine." she says getting up from her spot on the bed and walked to where i stood.

she eyed the outfits carefully thinking. "i like that one, it's hot but causal enough for a movie date."

emma says with a smile pointing to the simple grey fitted dress that dropped to mid thigh along with an oversized jean jacket.

i agreed putting it to the side getting out all my makeup, and placing it out along the vanity.

"ill do your hair, while you do your makeup." emma says plugging in the curling iron.

i nodded doing a bit more makeup than my usual routine while emma curled my hair.

for the next two hours we jumped around to music and got ready until the time came up to the date.

7:30 pm

i put on the outfit i laid out earlier along with a pair of shoes. my hair curled and my makeup done i put on a nude lip to finish off.

"wow you look ugly." emma says from across the room.

i laugh grabbing my purse giving her the finger.

"you look gorgeous, have fun on your date- but not too much fun." she says following me down the steps of the house.

"where you off to?" i heard a voice emerge from the kitchen.

it was my mom, her and my dad were busy with work most days and weren't always home because of it, except the few days that they were, one being today.

"im going to the movies." i say walking up to her to give her a hug.

"with who? when are you going to be back." she says bombarding me with multiple questions.

"just a friend, and i don't know, whenever the movie finishes." i shrug responding.

"what friend?" she crossed her arms eyeing emma and i.

"oh you don't know her, ill call you." i say quickly heading out the door with emma once i got the text that nolan was here.

"see you." emma yelled going into her own car.

i waved back at her opening nolan's car door to get in being met with his cute smile.

"hey, you look gorgeous." he says pausing to take in my appearance, staring up at me.

"thank you, you do too." i say looking away from him with a smile.

"i got a large popcorn for us to share and two drinks." i said grabbing the stuff while he got the tickets, handing me one.
