The Black Shadows

Chapter 2

I was cooking dinner when I started to transform. My sister was taking a shower, thank goodness. I immediately turned off the stove, and ran to my room. I locked my door and I had transformed completely. 

 I hoped that I wouldn't go out of my room and hurt someone. But I had no control over that. I watched myself unlock the door and walk out. I heard the water turn off in the shower. I knew Helen was in danger. I walked outside and brought three people into the Darkened Forest. I beat them brutally until they were dead. Three innocent people, dead because of me. 

One woman, two men. "They could have been parents." I thought to myself. I walked back into my house and Helen was sitting on the couch reading. I couldn't bring myself to hurt her. Just when I was about to punch her, I turned back into normal. She had a jumbled look on her face. 

I didn't know how to explain. We just both sat there in shock of what happened. " W-were you going to h-hurt me Anna?" 

"Of course not, Helen, I would never do that,"

"Were you i-infected?!"

"Yes." I answered her. 

She sat there in disbelief. I will never forget the face she had when I told her that. I burst out with fountains of tears after that. I ran out of the house, wondering what will happen from here on. Will she never forgive me? Will she make me move out into the Darkened Forest to become one of them completely?

I couldn't think of that right now. There had to be something I could do to keep Helen safe. I remembered something my dad told me before he was sent to jail. If you ever get bit come to me, I can fix you. No matter how bad it is.
