A leader. A rebellion. A new way of life. That's what my people need. Day after day I catch myself falling into the best spekctacles of life which include fruit and small trips to the greens. The royal family? They have parties, dresses, food, guests, and single pieces of furniture that cost more than what my city is worth combined. I have already decided, for myself, for my people, and for my country. I'm headed straight for the castle. And they are going to make me their queen.

"No." I looked Mae dead in the eyes. "I can't!" I said exasperated, throwing my hands up in the air.
"Oh come on." She pleaded, looking back down at the dress. "Do you know how much this cost us? I'm surprised any of us have an arm and a leg." I glanced back down at the fabric, grabbing it between my fingers.
"It looks like a dress from the royal family, I am not wearing that on a day that is to celebrate our culture and my own engagement."
"Just... it's non-refundable Ann. Please just wear it... For me, and for the people."
I sighed, thinking for a moment. The fabric was thin, but not so thin you could see through it. The sleeves were long and the neckline curved in a heart shape. The dress was an overall darker red color. It was beautiful, and that was the problem.
"Alright, I'll wear it today, but-" I cut off Mae's giddy reaction, "Only for today and you should not expect me to wear any dress like this ever. again."
"Yes! Thank you thank you!" Mae gave me a big hug, squeezing my arms so tight I thought they might fall off. I watched as she ran out of the room, most likely to tell the other buyers I had accepted the dress. I felt butterflies come up from my stomach. I knew that Mae would look better in the dress. She was damn near perfect. Billowing dark brown hair and the most starking green eyes. Obviously, as her sister, my resemblance wasn't far from hers, but she had this quaking beauty that nobody could deny. Every year the town does a formal engagement in front of the whole city to spark a form of entertainment and community. When Mr. Garner, the "mayor" of the town had announced I would be the one to be engaged, my heart had dropped. I had wanted so badly for Mae and her beau, Tanner, to be the ones formally engaged, but instead, it was me. And I wasn't even appreciating it.
I grabbed the dress and slipped it on. Mae was right about one thing... It must have been expensive. The dress hugged each and every curve that I loved about my body. My medium light brown hair curved nicely at the nape of my neck. Even my blue eyes were starking the red gown.
Leaving the room, I grabbed all the belongings I would need - a single flower of my choice (I had chosen a yellow daffodil since I knew Henri's favorite color was yellow), an acceptance speech for the town to hear, and a small box in which I would put the flower I received in.
"Mae, let's go!" I yelled, ready to get the ceremony over with. She ran out in a new dress. I was surprised her eyes weren't falling out of her sockets with how excited she was. We left the house and took a dirt road that went through my entire city. You might call it the main road of the city since it basically reaches everywhere. The ceremony was to be held in the town square where there was a stage and some form of decoration. I was a natural leader, but standing in front of a crowd accepting my engagement, whoever it may be, was terrifying.
As we drew nearer to the square, I saw more and more people come out of their homes, people I knew and had known for years. Everyone was excited about today's events. They had probably been gossiping about it for weeks before the actual ceremony. I smiled to myself as I saw one little girl point out to me, talking to her mother. I hoped someday she would be able to be in the same position I was in.. except less nerve-wracking.
