"You're beautiful," he whispers into my ear as he hugs my waist.
I try to answer, but the words get caught in my throat. "I am not beautiful," I want to say. Not according to society's definition, not according to everyone at my school, not according to me.
But, he makes me feel beautiful. It's the way he looks deep into my mud-pit brown eyes almost as if he's drowning in them.
It's the way he kisses the scars on my wrists and tells me that I'm too pretty to be sad.
He makes me believe that I'm worth it.
