chapter 3. A friend? or something else

Jay's P.O.V.

Morning classes took longer today though, our teacher gave us a surprise quiz, witch everyone groans in frustration, well... Except me and a few who actually listend, but thats about it. Lunch time came in and as usual, I headed to the library. I got to the area were I left my now new favorite book, this time I rented it. I then went out and once I got out I saw a guy getting bullied by non other than Derrick. He's been the school's bully since I got to this place... And like the good person I am, I ran towards the bully. Right when he was about to punch the person, I came in and took the punch. I fell to the ground with a loud thud. After that, the person ran away. " Gee's couldn't I just get a thank yo-" I was cut of by Derrick yelling at me. " You little piece of shit! You made me lose my victim!" he yelled at me.

"Is that seriously what he calls us?" I thought as Derrick grabbe my collar and lifted me up. He pushed me to a wall, then punch my stomach making me wince in pain.
"What do you think your doing?" I heard someone from behind Derrick making him let go of my collar, witch made me drop to the floor. I then looked up to see two blurry blobs fighting. Soon enough my vision cleard making me realize that it was Nathan fighting Derrick. I was a bit happy when Nathan punched Derrick in the face... Soon after that someone interrupted.

" What the bloody hell is going on here?!?!" a female teacher said with a sassy tone.
"You two! Detention now!" She yelled, making them stop fighting and start heading to the principals office, giving each other dirty eye's. The teacher then started heading towards me and said " You! Go back to your cla-." she cut herself off and start speed walking towards me and said
"Your face! You should go to the infirmary room! " she said looking worried. I nodded and got up and start heading towards it, along with her helping me. Well, getting to skip 2 classes in the afternoon was a pretty nice touch to my day. I got out of the infirmary room and continued school while the day goes on.
Lucky for me, their wasn't anything too important in those two classes. School finally was over, I got out and inhaled the fresh evening air... Then started heading home... While walking I then saw Nathan up a head and started catching up to him.
"H-hey Nathan, t-thanks for s-saving me back their." I said. Ahhh! Why am I stuttering so much?! I thought, as I gave him a small smile, he looked at me then chuckle lightly, that got me Blushing. " Well... I couldn't just watch you get beaten up like that. Not when you saved that person from taking a punch." he looked at me, then smiled. Wow... His smile is so cute, that only made my blush even darker.

Their was silence between us and things were getting awkward... He broke the silence and said
"Hey Jay?" He asked, I look at him. " Yeah? " I responded.
" were do you live?" he questioned. "Well... I live their." I pointed to my house a few meters away. He look at me with a happy face " Well, I live over their. " he said pointing to a house just a few feet from were I lived. I was shocked, " You live their?" I pointed to the same place he pointed. " Yep!" he said looking at me, I looked back and before I could say anything else he spoke. " Welp! Im here, thanks for accompanying me to my house Jay. " he said and gave me that same smile again. Whoa?! How'd we get here so fast? I thought.

" N-no problem. " I said Blushing again. As I waved him goodbye and start heading to my house aswell. I unlocked the door and got in, closed it behind me and got to my room. When I then remembered about the project. I checked the night stand and took the 100 dollar bill, shoved it in my pocket and then reviewed all the materials I needed, I listed them all up in a piece of paper and headed out. I walked to a near by place named Target and decided to buy them their. I walked inside and started looking for my material's, I looked at my list then I made a right turn and then. "Thud!" I accidentally hit someone on the back. "Jay?" he questioned. I looked up and realized it was Nathan. "What are you doing here Nathan?" I asked.

"I was hungry so I thought I might aswell go buy some snacks, how about you?" he questioned. "Why are you here?"
"Well, I have this big project to make so im just buying materials for it." I said looking at my list.
" Whats that?" he asked, looking at my list. "hey, I can help you with that" he requested. " Are you sure?" I asked, he nodded.
" Thanks" I whispered. He looked at me and smiled. I blushed and handed him the list, he inspected it and then torn it in half. " You take the half and I'll take the rest. " he said, then handed me the other half of the list. " we'll meet up at the cashier infont of the exit door's" He said, then he walked off disappearing through the crowed area. I sarted looking around the place finding the things I needed. Once I got everything I went to our meeting point, and to my surprise he was already their waiting patiently. He then noticed me and we both bought the things we needed.

We got out, hands full of carrying bag. I thanked him for his help and he smiled at me and just nodded. "Hey, um... Jay, Is it okay if I helped you out on your project, Im just really board. I really have nothing to do at home. " He asked. I was shocked, and happy. The fact that I actually do need the help and that it was nathan helping me. "Yes! Thank you!" I said and hugged him without even thinking about it. Then realizing what I was doing I quickly pulled back. Blushing bright red, their was a pouse before Nathan broke the awkwardness. " We should probably go now." he said, And I nodded.
