Chapter 1 ~ Again

Ava's POV

"Myles what is this?" I asked pointing to a pink mark on his shirt that looked a hell of a lot like lipstick.

"Lipstick, your lipstick." He lied, I don't have that color. Well maybe I did I don't know.

"When did we-"

"Last week, I didn't wash it." He explained a bit to quickly. He should have the benefit of the doubt right.

"Ew Myles that's disgusting." I exclaimed back handing his chest.

"Sorry baby." He muttered an apology as he connected his lips with my neck.

"Myles." I protested trying to push him off.

"C'mon babe." He mumbled into my neck.

"Myles stop." He just kept going "Myles stop!"

"Jesus Ava what the fuck is wrong with you!? You're acting like such a bitch! You usually love this you slut!" He yelled. I was disgusted by his words. I got off his bed and stormed out of his room, bag in hand. He called behind me trying to get me to stop but I just got into my car and drove away. I called my best friend since Pre-K, Jacob on Bluetooth. By this point I had tears spilling out of my eyes and a runny nose.

"Hey Av what's up?" He picked up after the 3rd ring.

"Jake can I come over?" I asked between sobs.

"Yeah of course you can! What happened?" He questioned, worry filling his voice.

"I'll tell you when I'm not driving. Thanks Jake, love you." I answered.

"love you too Av, see you soon." After his response I hung up the phone. It wasn't abnormal for jake and I to say I love you. Everyone thinks we're dating and it's in a romantic way, but jacob is like a brother to be and I loved him like a brother.

After around 20 minutes I was finally at Jacobs house. I got out of my car and locked it. I opened the back door and walked in like I was part if the family because I basically was. As soon as I walked in Sierras head turned and she ran up to me.

"Ava what's wrong? what happened?" She questioned, eager to learn who or what made me this upset.

"It's just Myles again." I answered becoming sick at the thought of the asshole.

"Oh I swear to god, I'll kill that kid. Ava he can't keep making you cry! You have to leave him." she exclaimed. I smiled at her sudden urge of protectiveness.

"I wish it was that simple Sierra." I sighed. She didn't reply all she did was hug me. I immediately hugged her back. Like Jacob, Sierra was like a sibling to me.

Suddenly Jacob's tall figure emerged from the basement. He saw my mascara stained, red cheeks and darted right for me. By that time Sierra had backed up and let Jacob engulf me in a hug. He lifted me off the ground and I sobbed into his shoulder. Out of nowhere Mama Whitesides appeared into the loft and had the strangest look on her face. Jake let me down and I just simply said,

"Myles." And she shook her head at his name.

"I don't like him Ava, he's always making you cry." She said, looking quote disappointed that I'm crying over him once again.

"But I love him." I sobbed into jacob's shirt as he rubbed my back.

"Love is complicated." Mama Whitesides stated.

"I don't want to get older." Sierra said after this whole conversation.

"No you don't." I agreed.

"Wanna watch a movie Av?" Jacob suggested. I nodded my head and held out my my arms signaling him to carry me. He brought me down to the basement and lightly placed me on the couch, my head laying on his lap.

"Goonies?" I asked.

"What other movie is there?" He answered putting a smile on my face. The Goonies was jake and I's favorite movie when we were little. "Before we start do you want to talk about it?" I nodded in response. I laid on my back so I was looking up at him.

"So I was at his house right and we were just chillin' in his room and do I saw a lipstick stain on his shirt but he told me it was mine and I'm giving the benefit of the doubt and he's started to kiss me and I didn't want to so he called be a bitch and a slut and-" I had to stop for a second because my sobs were becoming uncontrollable.

"You don't have to keep going." He cooed running his big hands through my hair.

"Let's just start the movie." I requested turning my body to face the tv. Before the movie I told my mom I was sleeping over and Jakes and she said it was fine. The movie started and Jake ran his hands through my hair because he knew it relaxed me. By the end of the movie Jake was passed out. He must've had a long day. I curled up with my head still on his lap and fell asleep.

I was awoken from my sleep by my phone ringing in my back pocket. Jake was still sound asleep so I got up doing my best not to wake him. I walked into the bathroom and saw it was 2:30 am and I had 5 missed calls from Myles. I unlocked it and called him back.

"Ava thank god you picked up. I've been trying to call you all night." He said sounding very concerned.

"What do you want Myles?" I spat through the phone, still pissed at him for tonight.

"Ava babe I'm so sorry I'm such and idiot and I couldn't sleep knowing you hate me." He gushed.

"I don't hate you Myles." I told him and I heard him sigh.

"but you have every right to." He said very disappointed in himself.

"Myles I could never hate you." I tried to convince him.

"I'm so sorry baby I love you." He apologized once again. I smiled when he told me he loved me.

"I love you too Myles." I replied.

"Alright I'm gonna get some sleep. talk to you later babe." He said yawning.

"Seeya Myles." I answered before hanging up. I exited the bathroom and saw jacob sitting awake on the couch.

"Where were you?" He asked. "It's 2 in the morning."

"Myles called." I answered.

"Really?" He asked sarcastically.

"If you got to know him you would see he's not that bad of a guy Jake. He called to apologize!" I exclaimed trying to convince him Myles was an okay person.

"Yeah yeah yeah now go back to bed it's late." He said and I found my place on the couch where I was before. I finally fell asleep after what seemed like forever.
