BITE ~A Twilight Fan-Fiction

Chapter One

"It's crazy isn't it, how the most beautiful things can cause pain, damage, anger or....lust."

I looked out my bedroom window, Nothing much but rain, fog and emptiness. Forks isn't a
special place. The only things that hold it together are all the stories and urban legends.

My dads favourite one is about the "cold ones" an old word they use for vampires here. People who lurk around feeding on anything with blood.

I moved from my comfy spot by the window and made my way to the bathroom. I slid out of my clothes and into the shower letting the nice hot water run down my back. I closed my eyes as I massaged shampoo through my hair and soaped-up my body.

I started to slip away...

As I opened my eyes again I was in the woods standing there holding a bouquet of roses in my hands.

A shadowy figure stated making it's way to me...I didn't know who he was, on the inside, I was panicking but still walking towards the shadow as he whispered..... "wake up...wake up...wake up".

I smiled as I walked towards the shadow with blood leaking down my hands as the roses melted into warm blood. The shadow came closer and I made out a pale man with golden eyes and ice skin...

He pulled me close to him whispering in my ears "wake up"...

I opened my eyes again...and I was in my fogged up bathroom. I looked around...no mysterious person of the night. I'm used to this now. It's been happening since I moved to Forks.

They don't come as much as they use to but those nightmares are something else.

I dried off and put on my towel walking back to my room. I grabbed my gym sweater that says "forks high school home of the Spartans ", put on some tights with little designs in it and through on my poorly damaged uggs.

I sit in front of my vanity and looked at all the bags under my eyes. nothing a little makeup can't fix.

I grabbed my concealer rubbing it under my eyes blending it. I brushed my curls putting it in a bun in the back of my head, grabbed my school bag, and made my way downstairs.

As I walked down the stairs I can smell pancakes in the air and freshly ground coffee. I walked in the kitchen seeing my stressed mothers ebony skin glowing from the sun hitting her through the window.

My dad was looking joyful today as he walked in with the snow all over his cold ice skin. "you won't believe the things we see in the woods today" he said kissing my moms cheeks and then pinching my cheek.

"dad, I'm not a kid anymore...but what did you see," I said rubbing my cheeks.  "that's the thing, nobody's sure what it is for sure, but its killing like an animal...deer's, coyotes even bears with their organs out and blood drained out."

I rolled my eyes and laughed. I already know where this story was going.

"must be the co..." I cut him off" the cold ones I know," I said finishing my pancakes with a grin"the only cold one in here is you, Devin," my mom said giving him his coffee.

I put my plate in the sink and left out as my parents talked and started walking to school...

As I looked at the woods while walking...I felt as if someone was calling to me..

I dropped my bag, unaware of what I was doing, and started walking towards the woods.it's like something was luring me in.I started to hear a faint sound..like music.

I started feeling cold as I walked to the woods and then a car horn blew me out of my thoughts.

I turned and I was facing my cousin Bella...

"wha-what are you doing in the road!?!" she says yelling at me having a panic attack "I don't know..I just..." she cuts me off " get in the car

We drove in silence then I looked at her and smile." you looked like your head was about to explode. She smiles"at least I didn't look like a deer in headlights, I was scared I would have to bring you home to Charlie as road kill.

"shut-up!" I hit her softly as we both laughed.
We parked in the parking lot.

"hey...since your new here I want you to meet some of my friends." Bella said looking at me."ouu bring in the friends," I said doing a little dance.

We laughed and jumped out of her car. Bella started walking to a group of people..gorgeous people actually..it started to make me nervous.

"guys this is my cousin Kia," Bella says pushing her hands in her pockets...

They all look at me with their bright eyes and icy yet warm look.

"Hey, I'm Alice"a girl with a pixie cut waved at me smiling"this is Rosalie, Emmet, Edward and Jasper.

I waved at each one of them smiling awkwardly.Even if they didn't look so keen on being around me.they acted as if I smell bad.

I crossed my arms around my chest and looked around embarrassed.maybe I put on to much perfume. I looked around at all of them and landed my eyes on Jasper.

He stared at me as if I was a tv. I started to shuffle around on my feet feeling nervous and butterflies in my stomach...I guess he caught on cause he smirked and focused his attention on the others.

"so how do you like it here in forks," Edward said"it's gloomy and rainy," I said laughing "plus I haven't been out much so there isn't much I can say I like.

"This sounds like some more girl time, right Bella,"Alice said nudging Bella" yay more makeovers with Alice,"Bella said sarcastically as everyone laughed.

"come on guys, I'm sure she is not bad," I said laughing "thank you, Kia, "Alice said looking at the others smiling "you don't know this one, "emmet said smiling.

We all talked in the parking lot until the bell rang.

"Well nice to meet you guys, but it's class time," I said hugging each one of them"goodbye little nerd, "emmet said smiling"I'm not a nerd,"I said smiling.

"by Jasper,"I said giving him a side hug" bye little Bella, "he said"okay that's new I don't even look like her,"I said laughing "well you smell the same," he said smirking"what??"I said confused as they all laughed.

"don't worry cuz , let me show you to class"Bella
said pulling me in the school.
