AN: I tried to make this long but idk if I did a good job bc on Microsoft, for example 5 pages is barely 2 pages on Wattpad so it makes it confusing. I hope you guys like this chapter and sorry for the wait. Please Vote.Comment.Facebook.Fan!?
Chapter 10:
My face must've held an expression of shock and disbelief. He stood there, arms still around me looking at me expectantly. What was I supposed to say? I like you, well yeah that works.
"You don't have to say anything back," he mumbled as he let of me and started to back away. Almost immediately my hand reached out for his arm. I slightly pulled him back stumbling at his massive weight. He chuckles before looking down at me. God, he's so tall and handsome I thought as he stared me down. I took a deep breath before opening my mouth.
"Kane," I heard someone shout out. I growled slightly as we both turned around. Standing there with a hand on her hip and her fake blond hair swishing around stood Lacy, otherwise known as the school slut!
"What do you want Lace," Kane mumbled. Lace? He has a nickname for her, I thought apathetically. "Why are you hanging out with the loser," she yelled at him. My face must've been one of shock and anger because she turned next to me and stuck out on of her manicured fingers at me. "You let go of my brother," she basically yelled in my face. Brother? They're siblings? I turned to look at Kane and he sent me a sheepish look. Shaking my head I looked back at Lacy who was looking at me expectantly.
"Well, let go of him," she said. "Nope I don't think I will," I told her pleased to see anger on her face. I pulled Kane closer almost hugging his arm to my chest as we stood there in front of a fuming Lacy. Let me tell you a bit about Lacy here. She's the school slut and the captain of the cheerleading team. Very cliché, I know but who's saying life isn't cliché. She's the one person I can't stand here in school. God that girl irks me so much. Everyone practically worships here except for Matt and I. God, where are you Matt when I need you, I thought. Matt's my best friend as I mentioned in the first chapter. We've been friends since forever aka pre-k when he saved me from getting cooties. A random boy from the playground had ran up to me and kissed me on the cheek. A minute later and a lot of screaming, this boy aka Matt fed me some magical concoction to get rid of cooties and ever since then we clicked. He's the best friend any girl could ask for and I'm very comfortable around him considering he's gay. Aah, I love him. Oh wait I'm getting off track now talking about sluts and best friends, back to the current situation.
I look at Kane to see an angry look on his face. Why's he angry? "Don't call her a loser," Kane shots at his sister. Lacy looks appalled as she stares at him disbelieving that her own brother didn't stand up for her. "Gosh, Kane seriously," she says recomposing her face to one of annoyance. "Yeah and you know what? I actually like her unlike you so back off," he says looking at smugly. I look at him wowed. Did he seriously just stand up for me? Gosh everyone knew that no one dare speak out against Lacy and he just did. Aah, my hero, I thought.
Lacy screeches before stomping away in her stiletto well until she apparently stomps a little too hard on some softened dirt and her stiletto heels goes right down. I try to stifle my laughter as I turn back to look at Kane. He's looking at me amused. "Thanks for that," I told him giving him one of my bright smiles.
"No problem, I gotta stand up for the one girl I like," he says. His smile makes me swoon. He hugs me gently and I breathe his scent in again. I'm getting addicted to him. We stand there hugging each other in peace and quiet. "You're smelling me again," Kane sings ruining the moment of peace. "You bastard," I playfully hit him as he screams owwie sending me into a fit of laughter. We both laugh and hit each other as we enter the building just as the 10 minute warning bell rings.
