Jessamine's P.O.V.
I woke up from the sound of my iPod vibrating and having a seizure. I reached over to it and shut off the alarm. I sat up on my elbows, wincing from the ache of my cut wrists. I climbed out of bed and walked to my bathroom.
I brushed my teeth and my hair before turning on the water of the shower. After I stripped, I stepped into the shower, washing my hair and body, also doing the other necessary shower things.
When I was finished I stepped out, wrapping a towel around my body, letting my wet, waist length hair rest on my back. After getting dressed into black skin tight skinny jeans, a black muscle tank, my grey jacket, and my black combat boots, I dried my brown hair which dried into its usual beach waves. I grabbed my white backpack and walked out my bedroom door.
I went downstairs and into the kitchen where my mom stood with my breakfast and my usual pills.
"Good morning baby." She said handing me a piece of toast and my usual pills. They were mostly anti-depressant pills and also some to help with my eating. They didn't do me much justice but if it made my mother happy, I would continue to take them.
After eating my whole breakfast, I grabbed my headphones from inside my backpack and shoved them into my ears, blasting the music after saying goodbye to my mother.
This is how it went every single day pretty much. Wake up, Eat my breakfast, walk to school, hopefully survive the day, walk back home, go to my therapy appointment, do my homework, then sleep, all while listening to music. I had a very non exciting life. Quite boring actually.
As I walked to school, I watched people from my school, who had cars, drive by me. Not everyone was mean to me, they mostly just don't talk to me. But the people who did mess with me were just cruel. They've thrown me in mud or pushed me to the ground, one time they threw my iPod to the ground and broke it.
As I walked down the sidewalk, the clouds rumbled above me and drops of water fell down on my face. I pulled up my hood and just continued to walk down the street as the rain poured down from the sky. As I continued to walk down the street, my clothes got more wet and I got more cold.
Great. Now I can be sick. Yaay. Then a car came up beside me and honked, the drivers window rolling down. I peeked over my hood and looked at the car.
A boy sat there looking at me through his window. I just stood where I was, staring at him through the rain. After we had an intense stare off for about another 30 seconds he smiled at me.
"You want a ride?" He asked, yelling through the noisy rain.
"Do I know you?" I yelled back.
"Yeah I go to school with you. Jessamine right?" He said. I turned my head towards him a bit more. I nodded and he nodded back, still smiling.
"Let me give you a ride. It's pouring ran outside. Please." He said. I sighed and looked ahead of me. I did have quite a long way to go, but I didn't want to talk to someone I didn't know, even though he knows me. I looked back at him and shook my head.
"I-I'm okay." I said to him and I started walking again. As I walked, I heard him calling after me, so I stuck both headphones in my ears and turned back on my music that were hidden underneath my now wet hair.
All of a sudden, someone appeared next to me. I turned to the side and saw the same guy walking next to me. I pulled out one side of my headphones and looked at him.
"What are you doing?" I asked him, fixing the hood that was slipping off my head.
"I'm walking with you?" He answered as a question.
"Why?"
"I don't know. I feel bad for just letting you walk alone in the rain. So I thought I could keep you company." He smiled.
"I don't even know who you are." I said, raising my eyebrows at him. He held his hand out for me to shake.
"Ashkii Roys. Senior." He said encouraging me to shake his hand. I figured he wasn't going to give up so I sighed and shook his hand.
"Jessamine Winters. Also a senior." I said after shaking his hand.
"There. Now we know each other. Now can we just go in my car please?" He asked pointing to his car. I sighed and walked towards the car, mumbling a "fine". I climbed into the car, Ashkii getting in after me. Then, we were on our way to school. While we were on our way, he tried making small talk but I only answered one word answers.
He eventually stopped trying and just turned on the music. While he drove, he slipped on his glasses that were circular. As he drove, I carefully looked at him. He had this messily styled hair that was blonde but with a hint of brown that stood on end at the top. He was also quite tan considering we lived at a place where it rained and snowed most of the time. He had gauges the size of a centimeter, matching mine. He also was wearing a nice sweater and some black skinny jeans.
Before he could catch me staring I looked away and out the window. We pulled up to the school and I pulled up my hood again and climbed out. I put on both straps of my backpack on and started to walk away. I stopped in my tracks and turned around to face Ashkii. He just got out of the car, trying to close his door fast enough so the rain wouldn't get inside his car.
"Thank you Ashkii. For the drive here." I said to him quickly before walking away and heading to my first class.
