Tradition

I hate stairs. I'm always tripping and falling on them. Even my cat has fallen from the top and tumbled to the bottom. It's a hassle especially if you have a suit case with a month supply of clothes. Our family yearly camping trip has finally arrived. It's been a tradition between my mom and my aunt since they could walk. Of course my brother, dad, and I are being dragged into it. At least this year won't be as a pain in the ass since my best friends Winter, Eve, and Sam are coming too. Along with a few family friends and cousins who always go too.

"Hey whore, are you done packing? Mom's screaming at me to hurry the hell up."

That's my brother Adam. Sadly, he's my twin but sometimes it's pretty cool to be in the same grade as him. He's always bringing over his hot friends to our house and of course I'm always there wearing my tightest v-neck shirts. My brother is one of those stereotypical athletes where all the ladies chase him down the hall. It's hilarious how much I hear girls talking about his muscles and looks, it makes me throw up in my mouth. But I mean, if it wasn't for him, I wouldn't have met my best friend... and current crush. It was during 2nd grade when he introduced me to Danny. Ugh he's such a hunk. I mean... he's so perfect! Brown hair, forest green eyes with a hint of grey to be exact, cute nose and no acne! He also has a nice body, Gahhh! What am I saying! He's been my bestest friend ever since my brother had a play date with him at the zoo. I remember my mom forcing Adam to bring me along and Danny ended up buying me a stuffed Hyena named Pickles which to this day is always with me. Speaking of Pickles, ugh I forgot him upstairs!

"Kyra are you seriously bringing that nasty toy with you?"

"Oh shut up, if your crush of 10 years gave you something wouldn't you want to have it with you at all times?"

"I don't need a toy to remind me who I love, besides I had the courage and tell it to their face. Sam is my Pickles."

Oh right, I forgot to mention, my brother is dating one of my best friends.

"You know It's not that simple, especially if you've known each other for more than 10 years.

He rolled his eyes and headed to the door.

I quickly grabbed my hyena and rushed down the stairs as my dad was loading up the RV.

"Phone? Keys? Water? You got everything?" my mom asked.

"Yeah. I think so." I panted out of breath.

"Alright, your brothers already inside if you wanna go ahead."

My boots crunched down on the gravel as I walked to the door of the RV. My cousin Remi and his brother Linus were playing uno at the table and my brother was sitting on the couch eating my gummy bears.

"Damn it Adam, those were mine."

"Says who? I last recall mom saying they're for US to SHARE."

"Yeah whatever, gimme." I snapped as I snatched the bag from him. I looked out the window and finally saw us moving.
