''But you can't," I sobbed, grasping his arm. ''You can't do this to me... no... you--''

He grunted, as he tried shaking me off. "Julie, let me go."

I stared in disbelief. "What have I done, Jack? Why don't you tell me?"

He kept his stance tall as if we weren't having this conversation at all.

"I've done everything I could for you but all you've ever shown me was dissatisfaction," I grimaced through my teeth. "How could you forget about what we've been through? Who was there after your mother passed away? And Jack, who was there after you..." I sobbed, "you almost died in that car accident?"

He cupped an elbow with his hand, biting his lips.

"It was me, Jack! Me." I pointed my finger at my chest.

He finally looked at me but his stare was empty and emotionless.

A sudden urge came from within me. "You know what, " I sobbed back my tears, "you are nothing but a jerk! I... I don't know why it took me so long to realize that."

I stepped away as I brushed my tears in the shimmering moonlight.

"Wait," he said faintly.

"Wait for what, Jack?" I said in a harsher tone.

He took a step forward, finally showing some sort of emotion on his face. "Julie, don't walk away from me. I'm sorry." He tried to reach out for me but I escaped his touch.

"Well, it is too late Jack. We are done." And with that, I walked away.

I stopped a short distance from him, behind the curtains.

Then suddenly, loud claps arose from the audience below. My cheeks flushed a little, as I smiled. I went back to the front of the stage to do a little bow and as I lifted myself up and gazed into the crowd, I felt a cool pair of eyes gaze into mine.

There he was. In the front row of the audience.

My stomach fluttered just looking at the sight of him. His eyes, as blue as the ocean. My, I have never seen such beautiful eyes.

The curtains closed our gaze on each other.

Who was he? I thought, as I stood in awe.
