My backstory given by the government said I have lived in this house all my life, but in actuality I have lived here for five years. I still am not used to the mirrored walls, as the ones in my other houses where all scratched metal. Every time I look at my clear reflection in the wall, I wonder how in the world I had managed to become this monster, when I was once that beautiful strawberry blond sixteen year old. I walked up to my reflection and press my hand against the glass and it moves. The wall opens to reveal my secret workplace. I close the door and suddenly there is no light. I walk confidently to my desk and sit down on my hard metal chair.
"Computer 473." I activate the desk; it unfolds its glass layers to create the many layers of reflective surfaces in a dome shape which will refract the hologram to me, which for now was simply a blue light.
"Please recite the password." It's robotic voice called.
"Lilly, George, Peggy,Henry, and Peter."
"What file would you like to view?" The feminine AI asked.
"I would like to update file seven."
The computer opened a port on the side of the desk I removed the chip in my forehead and placed it into the port. A wave of images past over the screen.
"Please wait a moment while I process the new information."
I gazed up at the concrete wall and pulled a glass case off of it. It held six chips in it. I gazed at the first chip. Then I caught my blue reflection in the glass. Even my skin was tinted blue in this light. I replaced the glass on the wall. Why did everything in this world have to reflect?
"Data transfer complete."
I sat back down at my desk. Perfect! I had done some digging and some spying; I found out Dr. K. L. Hallow was secretly a government official and happened to be in charge of the movement of 75% of all new-names. As luck would have it he was in charge this time of the movement of the pop-star I found him based off of his use of the government plastic surgery funds. I found his new location was only three states over from me, and he was going to arrive tomorrow. So was I.
Grabbing my chip I told the computer to shut down. I tossed the paramedic cloths and gloves into the fire powering my home. I restocked my bag with three bottles of the drug and put new weights into the vest. I switched out the shoes for a bigger pair and packed my suit, my plastic gun, and my glasses that are linked to my computer. I entered the subway, through the chip scanner at the door,
"Welcome, Vivian Kilnsman." The automated voice called,"Where will you be going?"
"Atlantis." I replied. It was an island province in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean which was built on top of a sunken civilization from thousands of years ago.
"Go to train C and enjoy your trip."
I stepped onto the train with thousands of people standing still as the floor sensed my presence and opened up to allow the magnetized particles to get a firm grip on my feet. A handle was lowered just above me and I grabbed on.
The train started out slow but quickly sped up to its normal speed of 1,000 miles per hour. Before long I was out of the boot shaped Italia province and we were rushing along at the bottom of the ocean. I could see for a bit the creatures, before we got too far under and everything went black then I could see the glowing creatures using their amazing bioluminescence to send bluish light into the train.
