After mentioning the year before a few times, I'm so interested in what happens before the story began. Are any of you interested? To be honest, it's still the first chapters so I wouldn't guess it.
Also, is it boring? Like the first chapters. Because there are some interesting parts but then its all like explaining and I'm hoping I'm not boring you, but Emerald's mind is chill and like she overthinks things like Edward does. (If you get that reference, get a cookie) So I hope I'm not. Things get more exciting later on by chapter 5 or 6. I hope, I haven't written them yet. ;p
Same as always, get your itchy fingers and comment/ vote. I get really excited every notification for no random reason. :)
Diego had arrived late which wasn't very like him. He was a hangover mess that didn't fit his category either. Emilio said he went to a party and got dead drunk with Emilio becoming his 'driver' so he wasn't as hungover. By driver, I mean, person to lead him when the police come charging in for illegal drinking. They partied for about 2 minutes, which is a record, and then went running like all the parties before. Diego still drank too much in that short amount of time and ended up lugging silently with small glares and hangover slouch. I'm surprised no teacher commented on it as they usually did, but I did see Emilio save him a few times.
That was basically all that happened today. I silently watched the duo move through the day hearing conversations and moving through the crowd all while never saying anything. Speaking was its own bag of danger. Each word is another curse added to the curses which ended with very awkward moments of silence and staring. This one guy tried talking to me and ended up running because he misunderstood a stare and turned it to a glare. How?
I had asked Emilio later on what happened and he replied, "How the hell do I know? I'm not the one he was staring at."
The poor guy apparently went to his friends saying I was in bad mood that day and that he had been absolutely terrified and that I be treated a bit better. No one bothered me all day which was a blessing but like, why? Did I do something? (Add it to the itches I can't scratch)
In reality, I usually had nothing to say. Nothing to tell them. I just let them live their life even if that life is very insignificant sometimes.
School was easy. Seen it, done it.
History is actually one of my only favorite subjects. The boys were nowhere near the class letting me pleasingly peaceful. The teacher was very accurate in their assessments, one of the most accurate in storytelling which was hard to find. They actually look at the facts and don't hide the truth. A perfect world history teacher.
"-In the ancient times, the people lived in poverty. Their life had no houses, no laws, no rights, and most of all, no safe haven. They roamed like wild beasts with no self-realization that could lead them to salvation. Living like wild animals they roamed, never staying in one place. As the first humans, they surprisingly had no reason. They did have instincts. Instincts moved them from place to place. Told them that animals lurked. Said which food was safe. Taught them everything they knew. That still, did not make them human. They were our first ancestors, but they were certainly not up to par." The bell rang ending the class. "Okay, remember the essay due tomorrow. Have a good day class."
Everyone left rabidly like any other day. I grabbed my clipboard (my prized antique possession) gripping it close to my chest as I head back to my locker in the crowds. Everyone leaves accordingly. Afterschool activities do not exist, it is a law after the shootings of 2018. A precaution that seems almost unneeded. Many precautions were put into effect after that year. Humans gained more fear over the years. They became fearful of every action, of everything. Global warming was a thing of the past. Trouble teens as well. All that they fear now is those who do not follow the rules. All they fear is losing their status.
