Hello Everyone! Thank you so much for actually checking this story out. This will be my first one I plan to actually write and not forget about. A lot of the ideas of this are based on Aladdin but the characters and setting are completely different. Also, If you really like the story and want to hear from the actual characters, comment questions for them below and they may do a bonus Q&A! I really love them and am planning to develop them well. Lots of Love! Enjoy the first chapter of TLG-JT!
p.s - To the right is a pic of the amazing Mila Kunis who is our Judith!
There's really no great way to start of a story about yourself, is there? I could explain to you how I became a genie, but do you actually care? No. Not only that, but it has nothing to do with the main story line. Maybe in the future we could talk about that but... I'm sorry I'm getting off topic.
Hi! I'm Judith Tyler, teenage genie. Basically, being a genie is just how you would assume it would be. Someone rubs the lamp, usually as a joke or by accident and then I pop out of the lamp in a red puff of smoke. The ones who don't bring in an exorcist stare at me in awe as I explain the rules.
Rule 1: No murder allowed. I've only had a couple people make that wish before I told them they can't. Yeah, it was real awkward after that.
Rule 2: You can't wish for someone to fall in love. Not with you, not with your buddy, not with a tree. You would think people would know that.
Rule 3: Controlling someone's free will is off the table. So you can't make someone be your personal slave or do something they don't want to do.
Rule 4: Like the movie Aladdin, you can't bring people back from the dead. Again, you would be amazed at how many people would try to do that.
In fact, it makes me sad how many people think I am the answer to all their problems, and then it backfires. I never want it to, but somehow, people always end up getting more than they bargained for. Anyway, whenever that happens, usually they have one wish left and can undo everything, but sometimes people are too quick about it. Hopefully the next one will be a little more careful.
Speaking of that, I am currently in-between masters, which means I have time to tell you a little bit about what's going on at the moment. Elyse is trying to cook again, and God knows we might have another lamp fire. My lamp is our home. Whenever we go into our lamp, we get much smaller, so the lamp turns into about the dimensions of a house. We have a kitchen, a living room, two bedrooms and a bathroom. Since we have magic, we usually can have whatever food we want, but Elyse insists on having a hobby.
Elyse is my faerie. She assists me whenever I am in a dire situation. We have a link so she can sense when I am stressed. The only problem is that she doesn't have the ability to get very big when we are out of the lamp, so she is only about two inches tall. Which is a shame because she is very pretty. She has vibrant green hair and violet eyes. Her skin has a tint of silver, so she looks wicked cool. Me on the other hand, I have wavy black hair and brown eyes. I'm pale and when I am out of the lamp, I am only about 5'6. I heard a bang in the kitchen, I better go check what that was.
"Elyse, are you okay?" I ask her, poking my head into the kitchen.
She is bending down to look in the oven. Even in the lamp, she is still only about 2 inches shorter than me. As she stands up all the way, I see that her once silvery face is covered in black char. I suppress a laugh.
Walking over to her, I ask, "How did this happen?" I say, sitting on a kitchen chair.
"I was making a souffle and it was flattening, so I tried to use a little bit of magic to..." She cuts off there, but I know what she means. I smile at her and pat her on the back.
