Broken Hearted

My phone rang early in the morning. When I checked the time... It was fucking 3:03am... I picked up the phone, preparing myself to make a big scene, "It is fuc–" I didn't get to finish when my best friend mercilessly interrupted me.

"I don't care how early it is! Let's go somewhere, I'm hella bored. And you're the only person who I wanna hangout with, right now!" Jake exclaimed, energetically. I sighed and looked out the window by my bed. It was overcast. Blah.

Then I tilted my head towards the right slightly, to look at my clock again 3:06am. "Oh my god, fine. Wait for like, 15 minutes. I'll be at the corner around whe–" the line went dead before I could even finish.

 "Damn that boy... He always does this..." I rolled out of my comfortable and warm bed, and got into some cozy sweatpants, ¾ sleeved shirt, and a hoodie. Then I slipped on my sneakers, and walked out the door.

The walk there isn't actually that long. Maybe a 7 minute walk? But I give myself 15 minutes so I can preserve energy, and enjoy the fresh air.

Before I even made it to the corner, I basically got man handled by the one & only... Jake!

 "Oh my fucking god-!" I screeched as I stumbled around trying to gain balance. "What have I told you about NOT doing that, Jake?!" I whisper shouted. After all, it was only 3 :19am.

 "I'm just excited to see you again, Andi!" He replied, a bright smile across his face. I had too admit... He was hella cute when he smiled like that.

 "Wh-whatever... What do you wanna do, anyways?" I managed to stutter out. Jake either didn't notice me stutter, or did notice but just decided to ignore it...

 "Maybe we could go to the park close by... Maybe sit on the swings? Hangout?" He offered. And actually... I love that idea. I wouldn't mind doing that, at all.

 "Sure, yea. Yea, fine. Okay, let's go." I answered stupidly. It must've been funny, cause Jake smirked slightly, and chuckled quietly.

After hanging out at the park for around 45 minutes, we decided to pass by the pond behind the high school we went to. And actually...

 "Andi! Jake! It's nice to see you two here!" A girl nearby squealed, running at us. "I've missed you both, so fuckin much!" She giggled, cutely.

 "Hah, hey Alicia. It's nice to see you too. It has been almost 36 hours, hasn't it?" I replied, saying the last part jokingly. Jake just smiled his cute ass smile, and hugged her.

 "Andi, did you hear?" Alicia asked, in her 'get ready for the juicy gossip' voice. "Grace and James are a thing again. Can you believe it? This is what, the umpteenth time they've broken up and gotten back?" Alicia rolled her eyes.

 And I swear. If I had the ability to roll my eyes all the way back, I fucking would. "Actually, I can believe that. They love each other, yet don't at the same time." Jake answered quietly. And I completely agree.

 "Well... That is true. They are literally perfect, yet not. They are imperfect!" Alicia exclaimed. Jake and her held a steady conversation about the school gossip, and I just sat by the waters edge, watching the wind blow small ripples in the water.

 "Andi? Andiiiii?" Jake called out my name. I looked up at him, and he smiled down at me, "It's almost time for school, you know. We've been out here longer than I thought..." He explained. He looked out over the water, a dreaming look in his eyes.

 "What are you think about, Jake?" I asked, looking out over the water as well. It really was a beautiful sight to see, "Well... I don't know. A lot of things at once, I guess..." He replied in a voice, slightly louder than a whisper.

 "C'mon lovebirds! We need to hurry before school actually starts!" Alicia yelled from a ways down the road, and I started to protest what she said, "Wh-what? L-lovebirds?! What's that m-mean?!" As I was panicking, Jake chuckled.

 "It means we are probably subjects to Alicia's shipping." He explained. And under his breath he muttered, "I don't blame her... I kinda like you that way..." I don't think I was supposed to hear it...

But a light layer or pink shaded my cheekbones, and I looked away from any angle he could see my face.
