Rise of the Phoenix

Prologue

Legend says that when a person consumes whole of a Phoenix's heart will acquire immortality and the power to rule the whole world .....

In the darkness of the night along the howling of the wolfs there are sounds of a person running in the woods as if his life depended on it.gasping for air he finds shelter under a huge tree and let its shadow consume his whole body .leaning against the tree the man closes his eyes only to recall the scene from which he runs .he recalls the scene where his beloved woman lies on the pool of blood with her heart dug out and her last words "Yun'er don't let it fall in his hands".A drop of tear falls out of the corner of his eye and finally opens his eyes which are res but full of determination to fulfil her last wish "Xing'er don't you worry. I will not let your sacrifice go waste" with these thoughts he gets up and goes further into the woods tears still dripping down his eyes remembering his beautiful and kind Woman.

Suddenly he feels discomfort and drops down and coughs only to find himself spitting out blood but he there is no panic on his face but instead a wide smile which can make any person mesmerised as if he has achieved something great .if only there was no blood coming out of his thin lips "Xing'er you don't have to wait any longer i'll join you soon" with determination and joy he quickly gathers himself up although in pain he smiles thinking about how he will soon join his love very soon and grips the thing even tighter which is in his robes

"I have to hide it soon .There is not much time left .I have to fulfil her wish . Cant let it fall in his hands" saying so he starts digging the ground near tree which is surrounded by many thorny bushes with his dagger .
After digging a satisfying hole he takes out a silver pouch with trembling hands from his robes which was dyed in blood and kissed it with trembling lips mixing his blood with the one on the pouch before putting it gently in the hole as if it is a delicate precious object and covers it up neatly with mud in the process letting few of his tears fall on it..

after finishing he sighs in relief and again tries to get up but finds himself feeling dizzy and with a thud falls down "no i have to get away from here cant let them get near it" he hears a sounds of rushing water near by and grins hearing it "just a bit more and you will be free hang in till then" he encourages himself and drags his body towards the sound which is actually a waterfall "hahaha so this is my end ...finally i can be with her.. my love i am coming" with these words he lifts himself up with all the energy left in his body and let himself fall off the waterfall "Xing'er in this lifetime I couldn't protect you but in my next life time i will protect you with my life" and so with a splash his body disappeared from the site and it regain the rhythmic  sounds of calm flowing water ..

In the palace ....

Inside a room which was decorated with all sorts of precious and rare items sat a middle aged man with eyes closed in his golden robes and in front of him a man dressed in black knelt down on a knee with head bow down in humble and respectful way "Master he...he .. he escaped and is no where to be found" the man reported in calm voice but the stuttering revealed his nervousness in reporting his failure . The golden robe man opened his eyes and looked down towards the kneeling man .

The coldness emitting from them made the black dressed man feel cold shivers "Hei'an ... you are my most trusted and skilled guard .... i think I overestimated you go back and take your punishment and dont show me your face until you find him or else ..." speaks the man in golden robe in calm voice but his clenched hands betrays his calm demeanour

"Yes...yes master this servant will obey your command" without wasting anymore time Hei'an takes his leaves or more like escapes from the person  as he knew his master suppressed his anger and only punished him lightly because even his death cannot compensate this failure of his

As soon as his guard leaves the man in golden robes smashes everything in the room which can be considered to be equal to fortune worth an entire city .
Good ..very good..Gao FengYun  you think you can escape from me after fooling me even if you escape to the end of the world i will find you and make your life a living hell hahaha and as for your most beloved woman ....
"EUNUCH LU!" The man shouts and in comes a man in his 40's in hurried pace so as to not anger the man more "yes your majesty" the eunuch humbly  answers the man who is the emperor of the country
" cut that woman's corpse into thousand pieces and ....feed it to the dogs" the emperor commanded to his personal eunuch in a calm voice as if telling about the weather not giving out such gruesome command .
After hearing his masters word the eunuch felt cold sweat forming his forehead "but...your majesty she is..." the eunuch tried to change his mind but was cut off " so what she is the Phoenix ...she dares to fool zhen ..this is the lightest punishment for her crime or is it that you want to bear her punishment !!"

Hearing him the eunuch falls on his knees kowtow till his fore head becomes red "No !your majesty please forgive this servant's words Please your majesty please.." the emperor just glances at him in annoyance "leave now" spats these words with wave of his hands . The eunuch thanks him for his grace and escapes from the room to carry out the punishment ...

Few hours later in the dungeon...

"Master... he ..he fell off the waterfall and is dead ... we ..we couldn't find anything on his body"Hei'an the shadow guard reports while glancing at the corpse beside him . Kich and with that sound Hei'an was dead with his head rolling down beside the corpse

"Hahahahahaha" hysterical laughter resonates throughout the dungeon making everyone present shake with fear of being the next target "Useless servant" spats out these words through clenched teeth and kicks the guard's headless body who served his master devotedly but in the end died in such manner by the same master..

"Eunuch lu punish these two with the same punishment and rest with 100 lashes" saying these words the emperor just walks away leaving behind his frightened servants...

I may have not succeeded this time but there will always be next

Laughing all the way till the exit .....
