Kanina pa ring ng ring ang cp nya sa gilid ng kanyang night stand, naiinis na siya sa tumatawag sa kanya, it is her first night in about two weeks na nakatulog siya ng medyo mahaba-haba.
Simula ng ibinigay sa kanya ng agency ang assignment na iyon ay di na siya mapakali. Di niya alam kung kaya nya ang bago nyang assignment. It’s not that she can’t do it coz she’s lack the ability, it is because she’s not at ease with the set-up.
Bakit ba naman kasi sa dinami dami ng pwede nyang maging assignment ay ito pang case na ito ang binigay sa kanya ni Andy. And what’s worse, he teams her up with his cousin James.
Nag-aalala siya kung ano ang maging reaksyon ni Al. She loves her husband, so much that she can’t bear the thought of him getting jealous with her workmate. Sobrang bait ng asawa nya, sobrang understanding, they had the perfect marriage sabi ng mga kaibigan nila. Al doesn’t deserve all of this, if only she can tell him who she is, and what she’s doing in her job.
After the tenth ring ay pinagpasyahan nyang sagutin ang tawag. Kahit ano pang gawin nyang iwas ay di siya titigilan ng caller nya.
“I’m here”
“Identification” sabi ng nasa kabilang linya
“ cybereye 32080M”
“What took you so long to answer my call!”
“ Have you heard of the word SLEEPING next to the word RESTING? Uh, I forgot I’m talking to the man of steel himself.”
“No need to be sarcastic Cy, I just forgot the time difference. What time is it in the Philippines?.” Nasa tono ng kausap nya ang paghingi ng paumanhin.
“Past 12 midnight superman!”
“I said sorry!”
“really? Saan banda doon, di ko maalala.”
“ In everything, but I think your still holding a grudge against me. I didn’t mean it to happen Cy, i’m just doing my Job. Up until now, am still firm on where I stand, Im sorry you felt that way, but am not sorry i did it.”
Napabuntong hininga siya sa sinabi ng kausap nya sa kabilang linya. Bakit ito tumawag sa kanya, at bakit siya pa mismo ang kumausap sa kanya. She thought the assignment was already off or on-hold. Natawagan na siya ng airline company na kanselado ang flight niya sa darating ng sabado.
“Let’s cut the crap, what is it this time?”she asks impatiently.
“Ask them to move the meeting. Do everything you can to move it, and be sure they re-sched before the delivery. It is so crucial to the operation Cy, and we are counting you on this one, if only I can, I’ll gladly do it for you.”
