Her heart was pounding loudly inside her chest, rushing blood through every vein in her system as she moved her body alongside the growing waves of music in the dance studio.

It was getting late, her footsteps were the only sound echoing in the dance floor - together with her breath and the heavy base sound coming from the speakers - as Souyeon kept her focus on the choreography she was set to perform few weeks from now. Everyone have already left, all the trainees decided to call it a day and head back to their dorms but not her.

She needed to perfect those moves, no mistakes were allowed, she would never settle for average or good enough; if that was all she aimed for; she wouldn't have let herself go through all the struggles of living alone and becoming fully independent in order for her to pursue her dream of becoming a world class dancer.

She could feel the muscles around her legs cramp as she kept swaying back and forth with the music refusing to give in to the sensation of fatigue that started to wash over her body. That was until she heard clapping from around the entrance door.

In the mirror, a reflection of a familiar figure caught her attention.

"Taehee ah!" She shouted as a smile found its way to her lips. She watched as her child-hood best friend made her way into the room while still clapping.

"Great job! Nothing less expected from our future world-class dancer" Taehee said as she punched Souyeon lightly on the shoulder.

"Yeah right, I still have a long way to go to get there friend" Souyeon chuckled, returning the playful punch "how did you know where to find me though?"

"Oh come on! Did you really think I won't know your whereabouts just because we don't live under the same roof anymore? Besides, where else could you be? I went to check on you in your apartment but you weren't there so I came here."

Souyeon and Taehee were more than just best friends; people might as well mistake them for being sisters.

Souyeon had lost her family at a young age to a tragic car accident, she was too young to remember any of it but that was what she's been told by the family who took care of all of her needs and raised her as a child of theirs. Her dad's friend, Taehee's father, was the one who pulled her out of the car right before it blew up as he made it there in the right time, and took her in ever since.

Taehee's family was everything Souyeon has ever known. Saying that she's grateful for what they did to her throughout the years would be a massive understatement. However, pursuing her dream life obliged her to decide between sticking around and going out there on her own in facing the real world and living independently.

Although she obviously chose the latter lifestyle, Taehee's family never abandoned her and kept on being the support she sake whenever the need arose.

"I had to work on some moves in the new choreography, these are driving me nuts and I cannot afford to make any mistakes on stage Tae." Souyeon said with a pout on her face.

"I know how much of a perfectionist you can be sometimes Souyeon, and I can say nothing about it because I know how passionate you are about the whole dance thing, I've seen you grow up and bloom into such a wonderful dancer throughout the years but this doesn't mean you should go beyond your limits" Taehee uttered, hints of worry smothered her face as she continued "you might as well call it a day and go home for the night, how about that? I'd drop you off if you want."

Knowing how much her friend cares for her and how drained her body has got, Souyeon decided to listen to Taehee for once and give herself some recovery time before morning arises and rehearsal starts all over again.
