Ch. 2

The next day my parents decided we should all go to the breakfast buffet and then the pool. I'm really insecure and hate going to the pool with a lot of people. So I put on my bikini and then some leggings, a sweatshirt and black flip flops.

We walked into the place where the buffet was and I grabbed 2 pancakes and some orange juice. Once again I saw matt, with his brothers and sister. I really didn't want to talk to him.

I started walking to the table my parents were sitting at, and of course it was the one next to matts. I started to freak out and didn't know what to do. He walked right by me without noticing me so maybe he doesn't know who I am or even that I exist...

My parents tried to talk to me but I was to concentrated on not letting matt see me.

When we were done we walked to the pool area and sat on some lounge chairs, I was reading tfios of course while my parents talked.

I decided to go and get a lemonade at the bar by the pool. On my way there someone bumped into me and I fell to the ground. It was matt...oh god this can't be happening I thought to myself. He lifted me up apologizing about 20 times. "I-I'm okay" I told him. He looked down at me because he was WAY taller than me and smiled. "You look very familiar."
"That's because I go to your school...." I said.
"Oh right your names-" he hesitated "Jade? Jade Thompson?"

I was amazed he knew my name, Matt Espinosa knew my name. Wait no I hate him. I didn't even know what I thought anymore. "Yeah that's me" I finally blurted out.

He looked around "Would you like to ya know hang out sometime?"
"Um sure, when?"
"Are u doing anything right now?" He asked
"no not really.."
"Okay let's do something like go swimming maybe?"
I really didn't want to but I wasn't gonna turn him down, I then agreed.

He grabbed my hand and pulled me over too the pool. I was shocked he would actually touch me, I'm not the popular type at my school and he definitely was. Most of the popular people wouldn't talk to me, is he different?

I took of my sweatshirt and leggings and quickly got in the pool. He looked at me and took of his shirt. He jumped in and asked me a bunch of questions about myself. I just giggled and answered all his questions. "Why are u laughing at me" he asked and splashed water on me. "I'm not you just talk a lot" I told him giggling.

He was really really cute, was I starting to like him? I don't know. He's so sweet and cute. I can't like him he's popular. It's not like he likes me.

"I'm gonna get out for a bit" he looked at me with the puppy dog face "but we were having fun" he said sadly. I got out anyways and sat in a chair, I pulled out the fault in our stars. "OH MY GOD I LOVE THAT BOOK" I heard matt say from the pool.
"It's my favorite" I told him "mine too." He replied.

Matt got out of the pool and sat next to me, he looked over my shoulder reading along with me. I'm surprised he would read this kind of a book, even a book in general. I started to get really cold and I wanted to go change. "We should go now it's pretty cold" he said.
"Yeah I'm probably gonna go back to my room."
"I'll walk you there"
"You don't have to"
"But I want too" he pleaded

I really want to know why he would be hanging out with me if I'm a loser compared to him. "Why are you hanging out with me?" I questioned him. "Oh you don't want me to?" He said back "no it's just I don't know why you would want to hang out with someone like me?"
"Why wouldn't I? Your really chill and beautiful..." He trailed off.

Did matt just call me pretty? What? "But it's just...nvm" He looked confused but he didn't seem to question me. We finally reached my room and he gave me a big tight hug.

"Goodnight" he said with his adorable smile.
"Goodnight" I smiled back.
