"What... happened to her?" I asked. Michi looked at me. "Me."
I paled a bit. What could a invisible being do to her? My question, visible on my face, was answered. Michi extended a hand, smoke appearing. Shapes and silhouettes appeared as Michi talked. "Reina was an outgoing student with good grades and amazing personality. Lots of students loved her." The smoke darkened.
"Until the day she accidentally summoned me."
The smoke revealed a woman with silk and deadly black eyes. The Reina smoke being screamed as her right eye seemed to deteriorate at the pupil, widening a hole that looked like a scar.
"What... Is that? And what does that have to do with Rei?" I asked, paling. Michi made it disappear as she raised a brow. "Why did you say that?"
"No reason," I said and turned my head a bit, avoiding her eyes. She raised a brow. Then sighed and continued. "That is our contract. And how did it ruin her? She had to run from her family. Her brother, Hayden, is the only one who knows about me and doesn't chase her and I down. The rest of the Parkins family, however, wish her under lock and key." She looked at me.
"They want her freedom to be stripped, all because she is a Demon Bearer, and not an Angel one."
"Michica Nocoren. Why do you wish to tell everything?" Reina said, her silver eyes cloudy, as if a storm was brewing in them. A shiver ran down my spine. Michi stood and walked over. "You can't leave her in the dark for long. I decided to speed things up a tad."
"She didn't have to know," she growled. I looked at her, and she looked at me, shame in her eyes. It wasn't targeted at me though. She looked away. "I need you to come with me to my house."
"How come?" I asked, fixing my bag. She looked at me. "Cause you need to be more aware of what humans aren't."
I looked at her and nodded. As she walked off, I followed. When we arrived at her house, a two floor modern, she looked at me. "When you see my brother, do not, and I repeat, do not let him recognise you."
"So you haven't forgotten me like you said you had," I said, a soft smile spreading my lips. Michi looked at me, then at Reina. "She's the girl you left behind. Before we ran. She was who you had to say goodbye to. Wasn't she?"
Reina opened the door and went in. "We're home Hayde."
"Ah, sis. How was school? Who's the girl?" Hayden said, all in one go. I looked at Reina, who smiled for the first time since then. "This is a friend of mine."
"Hey, Chelsea," Hayden said bluntly. So much for not being recognized. Reina paled. From what I remembered of Hayden, he had a habit of spilling Reina's secrets to me. I called him my wingman for it. I looked at him. He changed very little from when we were kids.
His white hair, which covered his green eyes in a slightly curly mess, now had some golden streaks. He looked different from Reina, with her dirty blond hair and silver grey eyes.
"So, what are you doing here?" He asked. I rubbed my neck and tried to have Winder hide behind me. "No reason..."
"Uhuh. Anyways, make yourself at home, I guess," Hayden said, going to kitchen. I watched as Reina grabbed my hand. "Come on. I'll explain more in my room while we do our homework."
She led me upstairs into her room, which was clean and, surprisingly, bright. With a single wall painted a light grey and her bedsheets no darker. It was brighter than the black and red room I imagined she'd have.
"So," Reina said, sitting at her desk chair. "Let me tell you about the Angels, and the Demons."
